No Buc, your posting doesn't imply that at all....you have always praised the players efforts this year as well as the talent on the field.

The effort has been there from the players imo.

This brings me to the question How is it that this group of dawgs never quits

Time and time again we would dig a hole only to shake like a wet dawg then pull another notch in our belts and claw our way back to victory or very damn close

I know AM provided. much of the spark yes some even came from our defense

But the the question is what did our coaching staff have to do with this never quit attitude

Nothing? Anything? Find it hard to belive. Something happened in the locker room and on the practice field what does this team see that we are missing? Or is just youth looking only at the bright side? I know my teenaged kids didn't buy BS very often

Just tossing it out to kick around

Go Dawgs!

yd1 said this . . . . This brings me to the question How is it that this group of dawgs never quits

Allow me this . . . . I know that we bring the type of young men on campus that have played football at its highest level in high school. Many or most come from good, solid coaching. The last sentence is what I think is missing.

Many are applying what they have learned from pee wee to the eventual spot in D1 football. They have been taught, and it stuck with them. JMHO

Don't think that there are not some things that Richt does well. You can find a really, really bad coach and point to something he does well.

Richt's stay calm demeanor probably rubs off on everyone... and remaining calm and not panicking has it's benefits.

Other than that... talent and drive from within individual players is my guess.

One was AM. ALL AM. He put the team on his back for a half against Auburn.

The other was against a Ga Tech squad that doesn't have the talent to hang with us at all. Our kids just happened to wake up and remember who it was we were playing.

Not directing this at you YD, because I don't think you are saying this, but if anyone thinks we were coached back into those games I've got some land I want to sell them.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Have to agree with these posts.

Believe these kids are "winners" or they wouldn't have been recruited in the first place. Like Buc said, winning has been instilled in these kids for many years and most know what it takes to be successful.

As WD said, CMR does keep calmness in the face of adversity/panic for the most part which is a great attribute and is important in sports imo....very important.

Just still can't believe the D coaching side of the ball isn't being addressed.....geez....is Lakatos alive? Would love to hear his take on his secondary's performance.

wlayton allow me to amend what I said about players. I have called two in particular out this season. Going to be interesting to see how this recruiting year shakes out.

If I am a part of the coaching staff, the recent withdrawal makes me that much more aware of what "I am not doing". There is more to the story than the young mans Dad being a friend of Garner. Russell's Dad was his Dad when Dontavius committed to Georgia. Young men are watching the results on the field.

Appears to me that we were simply being beaten on the recruiting trail. Realize the age thingy that many media folks want to say caused Dontavius Russell to pull back is the "short answer". More to it than that. Maybe because we were being out recruited. Do not believe that is our defensive coordinators strength. Does not have the background in the pros and college to be proof positive that he is "all that". Trying to keep it clean, real hard to do.
