yankeedawg1, watching the board most of the day. Much has changed as you suggest. Too bad that we are not in the hunt to be participating in a BCS game.
As you suggest, and agree with you, many of us are tired, not getting the response for Kentucky that we did for prior games.
This is however what happens when we are built up to believing "every year" is "next year".
Hutson Mason will lead us, but Hutson is not known for his speedy foot movements. That takes us to the offensive line. I know there are a couple of good players coming, but they are still playing high school football. Don't just walk on campus and start, much to be learned. SEC players that have a year or two under their belts are much stronger and wiser than the competition these young folks are facing.
Feel bad. Getting long in the tooth and it appears that there are too many problems in Athens that won't be corrected. Head coach and defensive coordinator will return next season, that however does not improve on what I think I will see.
We will as it stands now, have several really good running backs. We are also stocked at the quarterback position. Still missing the main ingredients for us to move forward and that is interior linemen. Lots has been said about Ford hitting AM on the last play. All we have to do is look back over his years at quarterback, AM has taken a lot of hits, some serious some just a lack of talent defending AM.
You make an excellent point in your thread and I post it . . . .
We could easily be looking at a 3-7 record with just one SEC win
Can't accept anything being said by our head coach or defensive coordinator. Been around the block too many times for young guys like them pulling the wool over my eyes.
Will watch the game, cheer for AM and the team, hoping we don't get a lot of coach speak, don't need to hear any more BS.
