I think most of us can agree this season has been quite disappointing. I think most of us can agree the fault for this is the current coaching staff collecting a crap ton of money and producing results that don't warrant the money that is going into their wallets.

For me personally this was the year MR was suppose to prove to all the nay sayers that our past 2 seasons were not the result of a weak schedule, that what we all witnessed in the SEC championship last year was our program taking a turn that would lead to a national championship. Hell I would of settled for a SEC championship. What happened?

We told ourselves last year our defense had that playing for me mentality. I think it's obvious that our true problems lie much deeper, our defensive coordinator sucks, plain and simple. I'm no football guru, but I know a little bit about defense, I know a little bit about fundementals. When I watch this team come on the field and see all these arm tackles, all these hitting people at the legs with their shoulders but not wrapping up (swann), it really really frustrates the living hell out of me.

Auburn is not as talented as our defense made them look, but our defense is as bad as we look. Why? Have we not recruited in the right areas? Is the scheme too complicated for our guys to get? Either way you look at it it falls on coaching.

Every game we have played to this point I have yet to see our guys line up and jam the ever living crap out of a reciever. Why? Is it because TG is scared we are going to get beat, well damn Todd we've been getting beat all year, why don't we at least make those wide recievers work for it instead of playing 10 yards off of ever single WR.

My problems with this team don't just come fr the defensive side of the ball either, said in the Auburn thread that every single loss we have had this season our offensive line play has been crap. It's like they play their asses off one week then want too take 2 weeks off, I know that isn't the case but this is rambling so bear with me. Clemson, Missouri, Vandy, Auburn, all games we could have won if we won the line of scrimmage. All games we could of won if our offensive line didn't shoot our offense in the foot with offsides, holding, stupid penalties that should be fixed with good COACHING.

Ask any coach at any level if you will win a game without being a fundamentally sound team. The answer not many. Every year we see the same things, missed tackles, penalties, special team meltdowns, it just NEVER stops.

Take the Hail Mary from the auburn game. A guy that knows its 4th and 18 should know its an obvious passing down they should know that if they gets their hands on the ball and tip it to the ground our team has excellent field position , regardless if the 4th down is at the end of the game or the start of it. 99.9% of the time we will come away with better field position than if you pick the ball off, again FUNDEMENTALS. Just sing aware of the situation. I don't blame the guy for wanting to be a hero and pick the ball off, but I do blame our coaches because that attitude shouldn't be there on a game depending drive. And what really kills me about that play is we called a timeout before it happened, I mean wtf? Did our "brilliant" coaching staffnot tell them to just swat it down. Make sure everyone was on the same page?

Like I said I'm not a football guru, will never claim to be. I did play the game, I know how important it is to practice, preach, and drill fundementals into the heads of players, because that's what my coaches did to me?
You couldn't tackle you wouldn't play. You couldn't block you wouldn't play. You keep jumping offsides you wouldn't play.

Dear god, I hope whoever the next coach that takes over at UGA knows the importance of fundementals. It's gotten to the point now where I just want to turn my tv off every single time our defense gets on the field.

My thoughts on the 2013 georgia bulldog team- no fundementals, no coaches, bad luck.

I will give this team all the props in the world though, they will never quit. We have leaders on this football team, too bad I don't think any of those leaders are coaches, and that is a problem.

Don't sell yourself short... your post is spot on. I played football in high school which does not make me an expert ether. I would add that this team, like previous Richt led teams, has no fire and no intensity. Its like they are sleep walking. I did not even watch the second half. Shame on me for being a "fair weather" fan but I just could not take watching as our guys had on D had given up. To be fair, they spent the entire first quarter on the field as the O was so bad. The fact that the team came back in the second half is commendable but they did not deserve to win. The fact that we came back at all is more a symptom of Auburn's poor play. Trust me, Auburn will be embarassed by Alabama. AU is one dimensional except when they play us of course. Only our D could make a former corner back look like Joe Montana.

Grantham is not a good DC which is overstating the obvious but it is true. I hate myself for saying it but I know what to expect as an UGA fan.. mediocrity with the occasional good season.

BD...

My guess is the topic of batting the ball down if they chunked it downfield wasn't brought up. I can't believe that it was and then we just went out there and tried to make the pick.... seeing hands of stone bat the ball up in the air.

Why do I think it wasn't mentioned.... I dunno... year after year of seeing crap like this probably has something to do with that. Call a timeout... does nothing for us. Usually we can't even come out of a timeout with the right personnel on the field and we get a penalty.

My wife didn't think we had a chance when we needed 21 to take the lead... I did. I never gave up faith in AM.

My wife didn't think there was any way in hell we would give up a 4th and 18... I did. In fact I had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach we were going to at least let them get the 1st down.

The reason I had faith both of those things were going to happen...one great and one terrible... is because we are Georgia. That's how we roll.

We will always roll like that with this coaching staff.

Always.

How could we not knock that ball down.... how?

Because it's a fundemental understanding of the game to knock the ball down in that situation, and we don't do fundementals.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Garner, I am glad your butt is gone. You bailed on Georgia before the 2012 Season was over, and your habits of not living up to appointments with high school coaches and players really sets a good example.

One thing for sure . . . . you will be doing your best to pull talent out of the State of Georgia, you were not very good at moving talent from other areas while "coaching (?)" at our University.

You were replaced with a "serious" coach, Chris Wilson, who showed much improvement over the lackluster way you spent your time on the practice field and recruiting. This oldtimer misses you NOT. One thing I know, water seeks its level. Without the "catch", you got your butt handed to you by AM, some determined receivers and Gurley. "If" the catch had not happened, the defeat would have looked like many unfinished games you coached the defensive line while in Athens.

Smile like a jackass eating briars, your "proven" methods of incompetence will catch up with you, one of my Rambling thoughts.

Oh yeah, Grantham, 4 losses this 2013 Season thus far, you can shoulder the largest responsibility for that. Mark Richt is lost, can't really say much more about duh . . . .

Rambling thought . . . .

David Cutcliffe, Head Coach, Duke University. A portion of his resume. Another Tennessee mistake, of which there have been many.

As a member of the coaching staff at Tennessee from 1982-98, Cutcliffe helped the Volunteers to five SEC championships, 16 bowl games in 17 seasons and the national title in 1998. His first tenure with the Vols featured the mentoring of quarterbacks Andy Kelly, Heath Shuler, Tee Martin and Peyton Manning.

Duke 48
Miami 30

Cutcliffe, not like so many of the coaches looking for the "money", willing to COACH. He in my opinion has been a great one. Old folks appreciate those that APPRECIATE THE GAME. David Cutcliffe has always been respected by me. Yes there are "old folks" that do understand tackling and blocking, we invented "wrap up".

Just saying, again.

Rambling thought . . . .

Muschamp crawled all over the fans again. First the Athletic Director gave him a pat on the back, now the President is doing the same. Fans and Bull Gators are not on the same page with two mentioned above.

There are some seriously good football players down my way that are wavering big time about playing for Muschamp/Florida.

Too bad that our coaching staff failed us again, now FSU is stepping up and several big names are headed to Tallahassee. Once upon a time FSU was kicking our butts in South Georgia, now they have extended their recruiting area, causing more problems for Georgia and Florida, along with Miami.

Folks that I know that are a big part of the Florida program say that Muschamp is returning next season, but they mutter those words with "ifs".

Muschamp will never be accepted in Florida. Can't control his mouth and actions . . . . reminds me of someone in Athens.

One more thingy . . . . young fellow holding up the sheet or piece of cloth in front of Grantham on the sidelines . . . . LMAO. Todd Grantham does the same thing game after game. Who the heck thinks that Grantham's defensive "secrets" are all that? Last time I looked yesterday, Auburn had already scored over 30 points on "his defense".
