From Athens- Game Day # 4

Good Morning All,

IMO and has also been shared here by others that at this point we know more zbot the talent at Georgia than we do LSU based on who we each have played

Tigers have played one more game in their season which started in Texas vs TCU who was ranked at # 20 and LSU at # 12

They beat TCU by 10

LSU also has wins over UAB,Kent State and Auburn by no measure a daunting schedule thus far

Most notable the absents of any team in the top ten ranking

It goes without saying they will find that the Dawgs pose a different set of problems

Along the same line of reasoning why I felt playing Clemson rather than

A cupcake helped us in beating USC.

I also feel that having NT hang around gave the opportunity for us to work harder longer which was also a good thing-learning to regain control of the game after the poop hit the fan

To me thinking LSU is that much better than USC is like looking through the wrong end of a telescope

LSU -Good yes great no. Respect but not awe

Unlike last year I see more WE ball on defense not ME ball with an eye on the NFL

Buc, RW had his nose in the thick of things along with AH

As you have said it’s going to be some serious pad popping with the RB’s of LSU and our young pups

Just feel our “D” will rise up and fight back and not quit

This defense is going to off on some team before this season is over

It would be a excellent idea to pick this weekend to make that happen

The heads on M&M radio talked this week that the SEC is changing from defense wins championship conference to one of having just enough defense and a wide open offense that can score a ton of points

If that is the case and were are looking at more spread offenses with 40 or more points being the new norm then UGA is a fine shape going forward.

This is all BS anyway and a bunch of crap to make the Big 12 and other conferences get a shortcut to equal footing as the SEC.

Not going to happen Big Boy Old man football still starts with a defense that can stop a team from scoring

I like that we practiced in pads three times this week-hello do we have you attention is what the coaches saying to the players

Best place to fix things is in practice not in the game- truly believe you play like you practice

Saying it again just a feeling that the “D” comes out and feeds of the home crowd and plays like we need them to-OK I have all fingers crossed!

I am sure these young pups have a handle on what is being said about them

That is the way I have felt since I saw the schedule at the start of the year. Everyone knew the first two games would give good idea of how Dawg's season went. Coming out at least 1 - 1 with win against SEC East team was paramount.

Now we have opportunity to progress further. Big time SEC football this Saturday between the hedges. It's what they came to UGA to do. Please excuse another quote, Ric Flair says, "To be the man you gotta beat the man"!

Line play will be critical on both sides of the ball. If we let Jeremy Hill start running downhill it will be a long painful afternoon. Think our boys can do it though, just got to get mean and fight for 60 minutes. Afternoon game will favor UGA instead of the Tigers owning the night. Finally saw Michael Bennett getting some good looks against UNT but need big things from him on Saturday. Road to the NC is going through Athens on Saturday! High scoring game will favor the Dogs but not an excuse for our D to lay down. Leonard Floyd needs a big game to shake up Mettenberger and prevent him from surveying the field. DT's need penetration to disrupt the running game. Hunker down you Hairy Dogs! GATA!!
