growl, believe that the best thing this team has going for it is unity. As you say, and say correctly, if we go by rating systems and what information we can gather, appears that Georgia is higher on the scale than Clemson.

That is where in my opinion the rubber has to meet the road. Have we as football players moved away from being "BMOC".

Team players usually find out quickly that this is not high school football. That young man standing next to you and wearing the same color jersey is pretty damn good, maybe a touch better in some areas.

We have several players, freshmen and others that could play right out of high school at another university. Not that long ago, if a player was rated highly, he could do the same at Georgia. That has changed a lot, even though we will see several freshmen starting for us against Clemson. Our program has changed from trying to get there, to getting close to being there.

Allow me to move to this . . . . remember a few short years back when something went wrong for example, in the defensive backfield. Remember the finger pointing that went on. Not that long ago. I would be shocked if we see anything close to that this season. That is something that is taken to the sideline and discussed, not pointing out a mistake made for many thousands to see in the stands, but this day and time, across the nation.

One problem that I had with Todd Grantham on arrival was his temperment when a young pup came off of the field and he was in their face. Sometimes, I guess it can and does happen, not sure that is the right way. These young players today are not quick to accept a finger in their face. Back in the day, Woody Hayes and many more did it almost every quarter they coached.

College football has changed, what was allowed in the 50's through the early 90's and a tad further on the time scale, not the same. Part of this I am drawing from AD5, he said virtually the same thing a while back, and he was right, a lot of agreement from me.

Moving a little further. I have made it well know my feelings for Will Friend. He said quickly after coming on board, best man plays. Look at our starting lineup, Will Friend was not blowing smoke. That is exactly the kind of coaching that will move our program leaps and bounds from where it was.

What is the outcome to some of this? Well when we look at the program overall, look at some of the talent that is beginning to take a closer look at Athens, someone or something is happening that makes folks like me happy.

DawgDoc said in a post yesterday or the day before that he could pick up on me having some concerns about Clemson. Doctor was right. Not thinking loss, thinking about the "maybes". DawgDoc has been on this board I think from the get go. While he does not post a lot, what he does post has meaning. I salute you sir. :)

One last thingy (as usual). Duck or duck, you come across my mind most everyday. After Saturday night, it will be everyday until we finish the job that has gone far too long unfinished. Saw enough last night to know that they are not a superior football team, when being compared to the Red and Black. They have some tough guys, but who doesn't?

Folks there are butterflys everywhere in my home, maybe Saturday night I can get rid of this particular batch and then let the new ones in. Football is back.

Go Dawgs, make yourselves proud. If you do that, there will be :) :) :) :) :) faces everywhere in the Dawg Nation.

Hey Buc, I'm here, I read, but sometime don't feel like posting. My nerves are shot from worrying about Boyd and Watkins,
I just do not know what to think about our D. I feel OK about the O, but just worried about our d backs and covering the pass.

Buc, tell me this, how is it that SC has a top notch D every year. I mean, I watched them guys last night, and they were every where, heck they didn't even need Clowney. It just seem like we would have the better talent, and it seems they have the best numbers. I could not believe how they just stomped us last year and our O could do nothing. I just hope it does not come around that way again. Hopefully we are in better shape, and game at 3 30, with our up tempo, we can wear them down.

I hear ya Buc, doubt I will sleep much tonight! I've already got my game plan for Clemson as far as our O goes. Will prolly run through my game plan plays all night till I finally doze off! Fast tempo SEC Big Boy football, other words feed the rock to Gurley, Marshall and "Q"! Sooner than later they will have to bring a guy up in the box, then we let AM start a very long aerial attack with a good balanced running game to keep em' honest. By late 3rd quarter they will be so tired that we will have our way with them.

I honestly never see it being close after the 1st quarter. I know everyone is going to be geeked up and some mistakes will made mostly on our D but our O is full of very composed vet's so they should come out firing on all cylinders. Contain Boyd and do NOT let him beat us on the outside with his feet and we will be fine. He ain't gonna run all over us all night, we have to many hard hitters for that! I see him beating us on the long ball once or twice early but we will adjust and be just fine. Our D is very talented and this isn't their first football game in their lives, yea HS and college are two different beasts but we just reloaded with some real speed and talent! Plus these boys are hungry as is this whole program! There will be NO breakdown tomorrow night on either side of the ball...Believe in the G!

GO DAWGS!!!
