From Athens - Game Day Friday #1

Good Morning All,

It has been a long wait but it will soon be over

Spent some time thinking this week about where we have come from this in the recent past and what our expectations might be

Much of what I was thinking about was covered here this week

The mess in Memphis, and I will add our meltdown in Orlando

IMO some of what we are feeling about the Clemson game this year goes back to the hangover caused by Boise State opener

The good news is we have our regular uniforms and Clemson is about

as far away from that Boise State’s team ability as Athens is from Mars

I can understand that someone who has not been following our program closely may have missed some of the lesser changes that have taken place with our players and coaches all have been important to our future

Those who follow and take part on this board haven’t

The hard work is just starting-make weekly practice and each game count toward getting better as the season unfolds

Yd1 its time to play I like how this team had been all business no BS I hope Georgia gains 10 pounds own treats during the game.

Gurleys gets 127 total yards 2 TD.
Marshall gets 95 total yards and a TD.

Hope everybody has a great labor day weekend 4 days off.

Right on target again. Gotta feel good about the team and coaches. Both are focused. Looking forward to celebrating our well earned victory the entire weekend. Hope everyone has a pleasant and safe Labor Day!

Yep, I'm a HOMER for the Dawgs and I feel good about this team, need to put the hammer down and watch out for folks sandbagging. I don't buy anything about Clowney being out of shape

Pre-Game Prognostication:

In the game tomorrow night, here is what will happen:

Climpsn will start with the ball. They will FLY down the field and put a quick 7 on the board, before many of the fans in the stadium have taken their seats. Pandemonium.

Georgia will go three and out on dropped passes and a short run. More pandemonium.

Climpsn will march down the field again, but will stall at around our 12 yard line and get 3. Less pandemonium.

Georgia will get some movement on their next drive. Short passes and a few decent runs will move us across mid-field, but then we’ll turn the ball over and Climpsn will take over in okay field position.

Climpsn will not have as much success on the next drive, but will manage to get a FG. Ordinary pandemonium.

It’ll get punted back and forth a few times

Before the half UGA will put together a decent drive, but get a FG just before half.

13-3 Climpsn at the half.

UGA and Climpsn will start the second half exchanging punts, with poor timing and penalties damaging the quality of the game.

Climpsn will get a broken coverage on UGA and go up 20-3 early in the 3rd. SEVERE pandemonium. At this point, I will stop watching the game.

Georgia will answer with a sustained drive and 7. 20-10.

Climpsn will go 3 and out.

Georgia will get a big play and then score on two more plays. 20-17.

Late 3rd quarter, Georgia finally gets a break from a Climpsn turnover. Drive. TD. 24-20.

Climpsn will drive early 4th, FG, 24-23.

Georgia will get BIG gains on next drive. Finally some quality runs. TD. 31-23.

Climpsn gets 2 first downs. Punt.

UGA gets a HUGE ground gain, as the o-line finally wears down the Climpsn d. Three passes later, end zone. 38-23.

Ball goes back and forth. Game ends. Sad Climpsn fans complain about bad calls.

This stat might have been posted on this board before, can't recall. Never hurts to scope a stat out more than once. Some of the stats below were against good competition. Maybe we see some of the same against Clemson.

Georgia had 24 offensive touchdowns that were 25 yards or longer last season, tied with Baylor for the most in FBS. The Bulldogs and Alabama are the only FBS teams that had at least 15 such passing touchdowns and five such rushing TDs.
