Go Dawgs!
From Athens- 2+1 was created by yankeedawg1
Good Morning All,
Liked what I heard coming from CMR about our second scrimmage
We played with more energy it was like night and day from our effort in our first scrimmage
The “Ones” won both sides of the ball and it felt more like we knew what we were doing
I have been doing the Friday BPS for a few seasons now and took some time thinking back over some the “stuff” that was kicked about here a ways back
Yes I was part of the conversation also
Weekly bashing of CWM defense of bend and break
CMB could not call a high school game
CMR loved to kick FG’s
CMB running the ball on 3rd and long or trying a bomb
UGA was a second tier SEC team and will remain there as long as CMR is in Athens
We had our butts handed to us trying to recruit players we wanted
Much gloom hung over our program
CMR on the hot seat calls for his head and we go after CDM at MSU or some other coach that is the flavor of the week
I have spoken here about how if the players wanted to change the conversation it started with winning on the field
IMO that also has been the case with the contents of our threads
Our loss to Lame and his Dad was a low point for me
It was also the turning point of both the UT program and ours
The fell hard and are still paying for Lame’s deeds
Enter our new AD and the wheels of improvement started to turn
Slow at first but you can hear the rails singing now here in Athens
Again thanks to Mac for staying the course and to CMR for his long look in the mirror
Both short and long term we have talent here and they are getting stronger and faster adding more quality depth with each game
In closing the “O” that played it’s butt off in the second half of the Capital One Bowl for the most part will take the field against Clumpson
Yup we will play behind a more experienced line had have two class backs with a year’s worth of growth under their legs..a very good thing
You have Georgia on your schedule this year you will have your hands full…..Love it
I remember CNS face as he paced the sidelines (SECCG) he knew and knows just what is taking place in Athens. He would be a good person to ask if anything has changed in our program, bets on his answer???
Pause and give thanks
Have a great weekend and a safe week
As always “Go Dawgs”

yankeedawg1, several of the past comments made that you brought up certainly refreshed my memory of days gone by.
Seems to me that most or much of what was said 3 or more years back proves that all of us like to win. Think much of the frustration on my part was what I will describe as "indecision".
One point you made:
Again thanks to Mac for staying the course and to CMR for his long look in the mirror.
The opening "sit down" with McGarity and Richt looking at what needed to be done appears to be reaching the intended goal.
Still much to be accomplished, but when I look at some of the recruits that are moving in the direction of the Red and Black understand some of the other coaches around the SEC taking note.
This season will say a lot about how far the conversation between our Athletic Director and Head Coach has moved the football program forward.
Thanks for the "reminders".
Going to the VA today and visit with friends and give thanks.
TGIF . . . .

Speaking of ups and downs. See where Nick Glass has decided he won't attend Georgia. If I had to guess, think that he will commit to Tennessee. More room there to play sooner. Can't blame these kids for wanting to be on the field, that is what they love to do . . . . play.
Other side of that coin, as Georgia strengthens its program, not many will walk on and start. That in my mind is a good thing. Our program is not where it was three or more years ago. I call it competition, and those that do sign with us knowing the strength of our recruiting classes are the competitive types needed to move closer to the top. My opinion.

Thought about Post #3 in this thread.
Brendan Douglas has really caught the attention of both players and coaches. Remember he was committed to Georgia Tech. Last minute offer from Georgia and he accepted.
What that says to me is this . . . . Brendan Douglas knew that Gurley and Marshall were in the Georgia backfield, little to no chance of playing time, did not deter him from arriving in Athens.
This is the type athlete that moves a program forward, not afraid to compete and nose in the books. His time in Athens will be one to watch. Same type athlete as Gurley and Marshall, solid team players with a focus on life. Could also mention Kolton Houston, not flipping but focused. We have some young men that should be congratulated . . . . often.
