Hey Yall, I have not been able to keep up with all the Info as I have in the past many seasons. I have alot of concerns about our D players leaving early for the NFL. And also I havent heard alot about our Spec. Teams this season, So I was wanting to get Yalls feed back on DEF and Spec teams and Find out who and how we might fill their
shoes?

OSD, if you are asking for opinions . . . . I think we are better on both fronts than last season. Not talking about the best players from last season, Jarvis Jones will be hard to replace. Do believe it is in capabale hands, and by the end of the 2013 Season, who knows just how good this group will be. If we stay away from injuries, know that we are very talented.

While this might sound a bit off of the "tracks". Our offensive unit will have a lot to do with how well the defense and special teams come along. Personally think "patience" is the key to this years team and those of us that follow closely.

Some have said, and rightly so that this group of 2013 should and will get better with experience. Guess it is like changing a flat tire for the first time, gets easier next time. Good to see you back, know that you had a few things going on. Hope that everyting worked out for you OSD. :)

My take is that our O will help lighten the load for our young BUT very hungry and extremely athletic D... Obviously Jones and Rambo our going to be hard to replace but we have tons of talent on D and there are a lot of young kids trying to earn a starting position. Nothing like a little competition to bring out the best in an athlete...

With that being said, I'm a lil bit worried about Clemson and Boyd and how our D will react to the fast pace O that Clemson will run. I see a few blown coverages and some key miss tackles in the first half but our O is LETHAL and the fact is Clemson is going to have to match us in the TD department. AM and his slew of receivers and TG and KM are gonna get us in the end zone for at the least 40 points!

So yea we are gonna have a few hiccups but we are balanced enough to weather the storm! GO DAWGS

Hey Buc, Yeah I was just looking for opinions or maybe other info that is usually hard to find out. I agree with you on the Off, being a part of helping the D along. IMO they need to score at a slower pace control the game. But hard to do that and pass so much. As long as we win I really dont care what the score but Im thinking this first game is gonna be 50 to 45. Glad to hear from you, hope yall are well also. GO DAWGS!!!

I also was concerned about wheather or not we have the right players this year to run the 3-4 or if they planned on running other Def. schemes, kind of mix it up alot more this yr to make up for loss of players .

OSD, have gone back and looked at "all" of our games last season. Thank you . . . .youtube. What a great place to watch and not listen to the "talking heads".

Many think that we were in a 3 man front most of last season. Far from the truth. Grantham actually was forced in some situations to play a 5 man front. It is all there, just dial up the UGA games on youtube, film does not lie. Also, the video is not reel to reel, like the days when I was in high school. No broken tape or " tape burns". One thousand years ago. :)

Seem to be using the word "speed" in every post that I make. This 2013 team is loaded with speed, actually remind me of Oklahoma back in the day. If I was a betting man, my bet is on what "looks" like a 3/4, when in truth it is closer to a 5 man front. When situations predict, I have great faith this 2013 will react. Clemson is going to see a "lot" of the "5 man front".

Allow me this . . . . When Todd Grantham first arrived in the SEC, he was doing some things that the NFL does regularly in the 3 man front. Big, huge men in the middle either playing the one or two gap defense. SEC is big, but mobility with less weight, not skinny, is the key.

OSD, the defensive "front" were in my opinion the "weak link" on our football team last season. I say that because there were injuries, lack of conditioning and . . . . a defensive line coach that came up short. Truth.

Might have to eat "crow" soon OSD . . . . believe this group of defensive athletes really do have a point to make. Part of the changes that I believe I have seen in our coaching methods are going to show itself in the opening game.

Glad to hear from you again OSD.
