thriller, Hernandez in his own mind probably thinks that this too will pass. Watching him in cuffs, even standing before a judge, his expression (to me) is one of, been here before, not a problem.

As far as you being judgmental, don't think so.

Looking through many or most of the recent threads on this board, (doing that a lot lately) takes me to this.

The two articles below are some of the most thoughtful and best written pieces that I have read in a long time. I will definitely follow the southernpigskin in the future.

Yes, have to say this . . . . or ask the question . . . . ever read work this well written in the AJC? Back in the day, Jesse Outlar and Furman Bisher had columns like this, Outlar in the Atlanta Constitution (morning edition) and Bisher in the Atlanta Journal (evening edition). Journalist that truly loved football and it was noticeable in their work.

First link has some very positive words concerning AM and what the young man is truly all about. Several names are mentioned as guiding lights at UGA.

Second link points out just how much the "family" plays a role in young men taking successful steps.

We often hear from young men being recruited that the determining fact or factors that had the most to do with their decision . . . . feeling comfortable with those that will lead them for a few years. Mothers are often mentioned as being the deciding factor for the commit to UGA.

These young men, along with young men like Marshall and Gurley are what my University of Georgia is all about. All of us continue to grow, regardless of age or whatever . . . .

One of the posts in this thread that I really liked was TN Dawg's post #5. Truth.

BJ Bennett, good on you. :)

One of the very first thing I was taught by a very wise computer wizard is- GIGO garbage IN makes for garbage Out

simple but true with many points we come across in life. Sadly we can't pick our parents I was blessed with loving and caring ones

sadly not always the case.

Then we get this from Johnny Football. What ESPN reporters do not pass along was Manziel's father saying that Johnny was dehydrated. Dehydration and alcohol consumption go hand in hand, could very well be that Johnny was sick, hungover, that type of thing.

Heisman Trophy winner as a freshman. Manziel needs to get some help, he is on a path that cause serious problems at some point.

Another problem, the court system tends to "overlook" high profile athletes, and some of those athletes end up like the Patriots Hernandez. They are young and stupid and think they are invincible.

Seems that several football players at TAM are finding trouble. Reminds me of UGA some years back when we had problems. One of our major problems was with IC and his uncontrolled habits.

Makes me feel real good about AM and the way he has handled himself since arriving in Athens. When I read the above articles, my first thoughts were what a good choice Mark Richt made in choosing AM. Slipped up on the IC thingy, but he seems to have flushed that type athlete out of his system, good on you Richt.

Lots to read in the Houston Chronicle if you choose. I look at everything pertaining to SEC football that I can find.

yd1, you started this article around 3 weeks ago. Guess the article/link below shows that there is some competency on this board. Have said several times that I like "most" of what Seth Emerson writes. It is not the AJC type of "nothing". Seth I think has become "emotionally" involved with the Georgia football team since leaving South Carolina. Good read below.

Edit: I like the fact that AM understands that he can get the attention of his team mates. If this group of athletes on the offensive side don't know their routes, or the running play called, or blocking assignments, no excuse for that.

Veteran offense for the most part, top to bottom. They have played on many SEC fields together, just cannot fathom broken plays.

One player I am going to call out is Theus. No more movement prior to ball snap. If you end up as our left tackle, either "push" or "pull" defensive ends like Clowney, be on the same page with our fullback. Quayvon or whomever will help with either the "push" or the "pull" block. Just have to know before the play develops, Clowney as we all know is that good.

We give AM 3 seconds, Heaven forbid 4, opponents are in trouble. Still think that AM is going to use his "wheels" more this season than previous years.
