Balance . . . . Offense and Defense

Reading the article written by Bill Shanks in the Macon Telegraph, brought me back to some of the same conversations we have discussed on this board over a long period of time.

First paragraph plucked this statement, and could not be more in agreement with the comment in bold type.

Shanks said: Very rarely do the Bulldogs field a team when they look stacked on both offense and defense.

Believe we are gradually moving away from the comment above, both defensively and offensively. There has definitely been a change in coaching strategy when it comes to recruiting. With change sometimes comes balance. Sincerely hope that is what I see. With more balance think it sets Georgia up nicely to participate in the upcoming final four and soon to be final eight that play for the National Championship. My opinion. :)

Really like the fact that Detric Dukes has committed to Georgia. Watching his video, Detric is a football player.

Another thing, if Charlie Strong wanted Detric, tells me all I need to know about Dukes. Some folks think that a football player has to be tall as the Empire State Building and with the weight of King Kong. This young man is six feet and weighs 220 pounds.

Charlie Strong should have been the Head Coach at Florida. Say this . . . . if he had been chosen, Florida would have had "first pick" on every top athlete in the Sunshine State, and that is a damn fact.

Is it just me or do I see a serious turn around in the way we are recruiting and the results that are proving to be effective.

Really like our defensive coaching staff a lot better now that we have removed a certain obstacle, yoke around Grantham's neck. Good on you Mark Richt, comes a time when the leader has to lead. Pouty lips don't belong between the Hedges, regardless of time in grade. Don't take your eyes off of the ball again Mark, as long as you coach in Athens.

Coaches will not have to teach Detric how to tackle, watch the video, this young man wraps up.

Welcome Detric Dukes and family. :)
