Found it interesting that Mark Richt had a small comeback concerning a statement or statements that Steve Spurrier made in the past.

Don’t get me wrong, as has been mentioned before, glad to see some changes in Richt’s coaching style. Once upon a time a comment like the one Richt made would be like pulling teeth. All of us know that Richt came down hard on the goofy talk show dude last season, all but came over the podium and brought the “hard” facts to him.

Richt commenting on Spurrier digs goes to show that even the “mildest” coaches have long memories. Also shows that Spurrier understands how to get his digs in and get into opposing coaches heads. Lots of “talk” goes on during a football game on the field between players, nothing new. Recalling a Florida player a few years back talking about the UGA football players being spent in JAX during the game.

There is not a doubt in my mind that Todd Grantham has this thing about jumping all over Steve Spurrier, trying to make him eat some of his past words. Think most of us know that Grantham has a much shorter “fuse” than Richt. The game in Athens against Steve Spurrier and the Gamecocks not only is high on Duck’s list of want to wins, it is also extremely high on Grantham’s. No way has Grantham gotten over the smack down that happened in Columbia last season. Maybe we will see improvement on the defensive side now that Garner moved his cot to Auburn. Yes, I believe Garner went to sleep at the wheel. Also believe that the gap widened between Grantham and Garner after the game in Columbia. For damn sure something had to change. We find out soon enough. One change was made.

Clemson, South Carolina back to back. Anyone think that there will be smack talk coming from Spurrier? Personally hoping that he does repeat his past, never hurts to have bulletin board material.

Good on you Mark Richt, might even take a shot at SS, change how “head” games are played. That would be a change.

Grantham, know that you would die a thousand deaths if Spurrier hangs points on your defense, especially between the Hedges.

Going to be fun folks . . . .

No secret that I don't like SOS. I once respected him as a coach, but no more. I have watched his demeanor change quite drastically over the past few years. Also no secret is his hatred of anything Red & Black. When coaching at UF, he was a brash and cocky SOB. With all right. He won 6 SEC Championships, 1 NC, and had a 11 - 1 record against UGA all in 12 years . Upon starting at SC, his cocky style was absent. Now that SC has kick our butts for 3 consecutive years it is back. I had all but started to like SOS. Maybe it was because he had been brought back down to earth and had grown in humility.

I was mistaken. As the saying goes, "A zebra can't change its stripes". Now every time I see him I cringe. Beating SC 101 to 0 (14 TD's and a FG) would not be as satisfying as slapping that smug smile off his face.

I expect, no demand, CTG and CMR to have no mercy on SC this year.

Go Dawgs!

TN Dawg, when SS was hired on as the head coach at Florida, they needed someone to come in and manage the enormous talent that the State of Florida had/has.

SS changed the way football was played in Florida. As the years went on, SS's demeanor changed. He had his team with a new system on target, while other SEC schools were still in the dark. He became a "cocky jerk" prior to moving to South Carolina and becoming what is now a real term for SS. "Cocky Jerk".

Bulldog faithful are becoming more restless by the year, hearing SS run his mouth and then . . . . winning three games in a row. Has to stop at some point.

We went through this same situation with Florida, just worse. Many thought we would never win again in JAX. Took some backbone by Richt allowing his players to rush into the endzone and put a look on Urban Meyer's face that I will never forget. Going to take that same mentality to get this "cocky jerk" off of our backs.

Agree with you, SS ain't gonna change. Why should he, got the State of South Carolina eating out of his hands.

We should not be caught off guard, South Carolina is a very good football team, and they do have two very good quarterbacks. Defensive line is impressive. Will be interesting to see how we game plan for number seven/7.

Maybe some have not listened to this tape, actually found it to be not what I thought it would turn out to be. Very fair, good interview.

If you start the interview at the 3:45 minute mark it continues to 25 minute mark.
