Good Morning All,

I was watching this year’s Tech game which I had recorded and noticed a shot of our sideline.

We looked to have had 200 players dressed out for this game. OK maybe not that many but it was a large group.

This got me to thinking about all the players we have who are not on scholarship who just try out and practice to play the game.

Chances of them seeing any real playing time are slim to none.

Members of the scout team doing their best to get the #1’s ready for Saturday.

To those behind the curtain who never get to speak into a mic or do an interview.

Your pride and passion to wear the “G” and be a part of the program is overlooked all too often.

Thank you for your desire and efforts.

Pause and give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week

As always “Go Dawgs”

Go Dawgs!

Some things never change in football. The cream usually rises to the top, guess that is the way it is supposed to be.

For those that don't get to play, most know that there is a reason for that.

Think about the many players in high school that don't make it as far as those that grace the sidelines.

As you say yankeedawg1, they proudly wear the "G" and have earned the right to do so.

Good Friday everyone.

I have always admired the scout team players. It takes a special kind of man to accept that responsibility. They will not get the playing time, but are as much a part of the team as anyone else. Selfless commitment to excellence and a true "big team little me" mentality.

When I was in school, had the opportunity to be-friend such a player. Once asked him why he did it. He explained that he loved the university and would to do whatever it took to make it better. He said that the odd chance he got to dress and stand between the hedges, it would make it all worth it. He added that he was thanked by several players for his commitment.

There are still some good guys out there who play for the love of the game and the love of the university. It's just harder to find them these days.

He did get that opportunity to watch from between our beloved hedges. I was proud for him.

Great post yd1. These young men need to be recognized as well, especially by the players that do see the field.

I certainly can see how a young man would walk on and practice, take a beating, get no recognition, or playing time......and absolutely LOVE EVERY MINUTE of it. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I would do it if I wasn't so old......what better way to leave for Heaven than from Sanford Stadium!!!

I just can't imagine the adrenaline rush you would get putting on the "G".....awesome.

Great recognition post yd1...thanks and everyone have a great weekend.
