Kirby Smart has been real SMART. Along with his great coaching/recruiting ability, he understands the VALUE of listening to the likes of Nick Saban.
He is one of three assistant coaches making more than $1 million in college football this season, along with Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris and LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis. LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron will join the million-dollar club in 2014, when his salary jumps to $1.3 million.
Kirby has been approved for another raise. Makes sense to me when I look at the bottom line, and that is . . . . WINNING FOOTBALL. Crystal to prove it. More than once.
Two of the teams that have been dominating in SEC football circles, Alabama/LSU understand what it takes to make the football program work. Call it anything we want, I call it an investment in the one program (football) that allows the salary numbers to work for the entire college and communities they are located in.
Recently UGA gave raises to our coaches. Numbers are much different that those above. I also know as most of you do that the University of Georgia is not one of the colleges that has a money problem.
Anyone that thinks coaches and others linked to the football program don't know what is going on around them, don't get the picture.
Found it very interesting that AM had to say publicly that UGA needs an indoor facility. Recruits like seeing "complete" facilities also. Some play the game of football to win championships, others play to win enough to keep the dollars moving through the turnstiles.
My opinion . . . . again.
The above paragraph in bold I picked up from Bleacher Report. The kind of reporting that the AJC is devoid of. Just saying . . . . First my butt. Amazing how many "clicks" that produces for the AJC folks . . . . FIRST . . . . WOW! So impressive.
