Below is an article written by Marc Weiszer. The type of reporting that makes sense to me as a long time follower of UGA football. Marc covers all sports, but in my opinion distinguishes himself when he is on the subject of football, UGA football.
Then we have the bunch from the AJC. Go over to their sports site and 90% of what you will find is the entire group playing on the negative. Sometimes a couple of the reporters will actually take the time to research and produce copy worth reading. These are the same folks that carry the press passes that Mark Weiszer carries.
If they can play on the negative as hard as they do, makes one wonder why they often come up short on the positive. Is there nothing in Athens that suits that group? If that is the case, stay the hell away from Athens. There are many on the internet that are days ahead of the AJC reporting both good and bad. Many that use the internet are not blogging because they need "clicks", they are expressing views that don't put a dime in their pocket.
A dying breed that roosts in Atlanta. As the internet continues to grow, the ways of the past trying to control the happenings in sports, in and around Atlanta will self destruct.
Never have I witnessed Mark Richt ready to come away from the podium as he did last season when another so-called "reporter" challenged him in a back handed way. Did not take that jerk long to apologize and eat his words, easier to swallow than teeth. Seems to be the mentality of the Roosters in Atlanta.
My opinion.
