Good Morning All,

Georgia and I hit the wall with cabin fever yesterday so I loaded up my travel mug with some fresh Jittery Joe’s high test caffeine.

Filled my vest pocket with treats and asked she wanted to go and harass the fuzzy tail rodents in the south 40.

Game on she said.

I said go ahead give me your two cents on your thinking about this year’s team as we started walking.
She said like you and Buc have noted our bowl win was very much needed, when you factor in the way the both the D & O took care of business it becomes huge. Make no mistake we won the fourth quarter and the game with no smoke and mirrors just good ole GATA football.

Think about this we played a bunch of folks on defense.

MM was out most of the game… depth at receiver played big with two others out with acl’s. Yet we still got the job done. Quality depth!

Huskers –big mobile QB who likes to run and pass on the run

Clumpson- big mobile QB who likes to run and pass on the run

“D” picks up where it left off in Orlando in the fourth quarter.

We sat and she enjoyed a treat and I took a hit of “Joe” and she asked did you ever think how our offense causes havoc with other teams “O”.

There is such pressure on our opponent’s defense to have to make plays as we can score from any place on the field on one play.

In a blink you can be down 2 TD’s which changes your game plan.

Teams will have to press which leads to turnovers. Not many teams want to get in a shoot out with us. Love It!

I looked at my watch and told her time to head back as I had to go over to Publix market for a honey do.

Told her thanks for her dog’s point of view.

Walking back she was 100 feet out in front of me and pretty as you please she came up on point next to a brush pile.

Head high, stump out straight one front paw off the ground like she was made of bronze.

I walked up slow and she had a pair of mourning doves huddled together.

I yelled bang and they flew off and she gave chase.

She strutted all the way home, it’s good to be the Queen. Life’s Good.

Back to practice on Tuesday.

Pause and give thanks

Have a great weekend and a safe week.

And as always “Go Dawgs “

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, it is a special treat for me when I see our offense able to move the ball at the level we do. I am a believer in running the football also, however do know that a good passing game makes for huge yardage in the running game. No longer three yards and a cloud of dust as it was back in the day. Sometimes change is a good thing.

Many years back I spent a lot of time training bird dogs. Good for the soul to get up before sunrise and load the pointers and setters and head to the fields. Nothing like watching the dogs as they are unloaded and see the brightness in their eyes, ready to please those that will enjoy the day with them. On point and dogs backing, what a sight. "Georgia" I am sure was rewarded for her efforts. :)

Oops, got off course there. Yep, happy with what I see going on in Athens. We will know quickly just how much progress Todd Grantham and his band of coaches have made in a relatively short period of time. Most of these young players don't remain in school for the full term, very important to catch on to the system quickly if they have their eyes on the NFL. Forty times won't by itself get them into the NFL, have to understand the game of football. Grantham likes to teach, he now has that in his lap. I say go Grantham.

Should hear the pads popping from where you live yd1. What a great sound it is! There will be some serious position battles starting Tuesday. Gloves come off.

Love the post yd1.....great visualization of the two of you.

Imo, our D is going to really have their hands full with Clemson, mainly because of 2 things......Boyd and it being the 1st game.

While Martinez of Nebraska is a very good player and is a dual threat, imo he is no T. Boyd.

Boyd can really hurt you in the passing game and will stand in the pocket as long as it takes until somebody breaks open. He's VERY accurate and smart with the ball. Jenkins needs to start the season off on a big note and harass Boyd all day.

I believe we will win the game because of the choking ability of Dabo Swinney but it will be in a shoot out......something like 41-31 etc.

Beautiful weather down here this weekend, hope you and Georgia have a good one there in God's Country as well. Cool one for you as always.
