NCAA Not Advancing -- Not Surprised

Kolton Houston. Hoping that all have read over the last few years this young pup wanting to play college football, on scholarship to Georgia to do just that. If you don't know the history, you have a computer that can bring you up to speed.

Emmert and his group have not allowed Kolton to participate on Saturdays because of a chemical that remains in his body that was placed there several years back. Kolton has done everything that has been asked of him, including going through the workouts that the rest of the team has participated in. Kolton has totally participated in all phases of college life.

What has placed Kolton on this NCAA restriction and kept him there is beyond common sense. That is what is missing . . . . (common sense).

Emmert and his gang have shut the door on a young man that I am sure will never forget what the governing body of college football has denied him, his family, friends and the University of Georgia.

NCAA needs never to speak about rules violations and penalties. Why? Because Emmert and his gang are immune to any and all outside interference into their reasons for whatever it is they do.

There was/is a thread on the Members only section of dawgs.com discussing this issue. I had several people email and message me saying that not being members, could not read the thread.

Basically what was said in that thread was the injustice of the NCAA and its lack of leadership by Emmert since his arrival in Indianapolis. Kolton Houston was not mentioned there, at that point the issue of Kolton Houston had not been posted as it has been today.

Emmert is getting his money on the backs of these young folks in college athletics.

I have one simple question for the NCAA and Emmert . . . . Just who the hell do you think you are? Step forward, answer some very simple questions that even someone with the educational background of Emmert can answer. If those of you that read this thread care about College Athletics, move past the Saturday afternoons in the stadiums around the country and look at the NCAA LEADER. Emmert has no right to be in a position of leading College Athletics or posing as a LEADER.

My bet is this. Emmert does not have a clue when it comes to Kolton Houston or the problems that Miami faced some years back. Information on cases that are this deep, he does not personally see or govern, he has told us this.

I believe that Collegiate Sports needs to be overseen. I do not think that Emmert rises past the qualifications of Willie Martinez when it comes to LEADERSHIP. Just saying.

Meanwhile Buc, I just found out that one of the Kiffins was involved in recruiting for Ole Miss, which explains how they bagged Nkemdiche and Tunsil. So if you were the NCAA, and a school that has never been highly successful recruiting suddenly lands two of the top prospects in the nation over several other perennial powers, and the name "Kiffin" comes up in conversation with regard to the recruiting, what would you think?

I think it would be time to put the radar up in the air around Oxford. What kind of car are those kids driving? Where are their relatives going to school? Who is paying for that? Where did their friends from highschool go to college, and who is paying their ride? Have they gotten any new tattoos? Etcetera.

Of course, I have to keep in mind that I am NOT the NCAA, so of course we would have to rely on Emmert and crew. :S

This means Ole Miss will be in the clear, while Kolton Houston sits . . . and honestly, he'll never play a down of college football in his life. Sad. :(

Brother, you and I both know that this is one of the things that Emmert and Company are trying to keep in house.

Emmert and before Emmert, the NCAA has had a free hand at running their room without sunshine. Speaking for myself, will never get off of Emmert and the NCAA's case. What they are facing now was brought on because of their lack of leadership and . . . . honesty.

thriller, have been doing some research on the NCAA and not only Emmert, but those that were before him. Truly there has been a passing of the "torch" and the methods of passing the "torch". More to come, that is a promise.

Forgive me for this comment . . . . thriller, it thrills me that you are focused on college football at the depth that many of us should be. American Football is a game that all of us that are members here take seriously . . . . you, Wartdawg and AD5 have stepped up and shown the depth you have for the game. Others do, not saying many here don't, really have to say this again . . . . there is more to college football and education than Saturday afternoons.

Take it like you want folks, truth never hurt anyone.

Steve, sure hope that you open the gates.

Being fair on Nkemdiche... I live within 4 miles of his high school, support the program, and know the coach personally.
He never firmly committed to anyone before deciding to go play with his brother, and I think that was a legit "get" by Ole Miss.

Tunsil.... not so much. That's where the 400+ e-mails involving him and his girlfriend and a Kiffin really comes
into play...

Meanwhile back at the ranch... We've got Emmert standing behind his blasted rule book, using it as an shield to deflect the possibility of having to step in and make a common sense decision as he ruins Kolton's career in sport and time at UGA.

Nice job, Emmert

Here's to praying one day down the road having someone drop a killer lawsuit on the NCAA that brings an end to this
sort of absurdity.

Buc.....with the fiasco going on down in Miami and Emmert's involvement as well, don't be surprised if Emmert isn't fired. Problem is....just not soon enough for Houston.
