From Athens- NSD plus 2

Good Morning All,

It hit me this year that NSD has become the Jerry Springer show of college football.

It has been said here by many and I agree we want recruits who want to wear the “G” and play GATA football.

High school stars are nice but that ends with the first day of college practice.

I picked this off another blog and it put a focus on the true picture for me.

Would we as Georgia fans been happier if Tray Matthews had waited until Wednesday and on ESPN in front of the world put on a Georgia cap and committed to coming to Athens?

For our needs are we not better off that he is on campus getting ready for mat drills and spring ball?(along with 12 other early signees) IMO this will have a huge payoff in our programs future

Adding my two cents what if this fall he gets a pick six in Jacksonville that secures a Dawg win might that change how some of us felt about the lack of whoop this past Wednesday?

Buc I share your feelings about this year’s team.

I like the way our schedule lines up also. Focus from first spring practice- Battle of Lake Hartwell.

Followed by the Chickens at home. Do look for any slack or favors like LSU at home also.

We showed up in the 4th quarter in Orlando, on both sides of the ball.

IMO we take this same attitude to Anderson,SC on August 31st .

And a final word for the moment about NSD in closing.

We all know how those two story lines played out.

Not the way we saw at first for sure.

It might not come to an NCAA investigation but the smell of fish just got stronger In Oxford.

Many stories to follow for sure.

Time to coach them up- Father Joe and crew do your thing! bring on spring ball

Pause and give thanks

Thank a person in uniform for their service

Maybe the values that I grew up with don't apply these days, seems more and more to be that way.

The media has the power to shape the minds of many. That not only applies to football players, all one has to do is follow political elections and points of view.

yd1 I like the young men that signed on, and am in full agreement with AD5 on one young pup especially. While Tray Matthews had a lot of fun with the media, he had his head straight and never wavered on wearing the Red and Black. There is some discussion on this board about one player that flipped on the last week of recruiting. Wonder how much the media and supposedly responsible people had to do with that. I will take the Tray Matthews examples over the Laremy Tunsil types. Don't really give a damn if he was/is the best offensive linemen in the country. At this point, that is conjecture.

Just returned from the Viera VA Clinic. God Bless these young men and women that do understand the word "Honor". Some of these young "hot shots" need to spend a day at a VA facility, might see what some give to allow them to use their God given talents.

yd1, we are both old enough to appreciate values and good common sense. I picture you in both of those categories.

Think "Georgia" gets a lot of treats in 2013.

Great points and the first thing that came to my mind while reading them was the old saying......maybe sometimes "we don't see the forest for the trees" (or something like that)

Those 13 in Athens early could be the biggest "sleeper" move of our recruiting class.

yd1, I go through every one of the posts as you and some others know, sometimes a point is made, and quite frankly, makes me either feel good or appreciate the fact that I have had so many years to watch Georgia Football.

Maybe this is the time to refresh some memories about recruiting. We have missed someone with the talent to put a "Blue" mark on your body if you dare come into "Tray's Area". Tray was "Bad" as a sophomore, don't believe it . . . .

This is another UGA supporter that I found my way to take a look at. Young pup, loves UGA Football and lays out some pretty good points. Would like to see more like him posting. Young fellow cares enough about UGA Football to start his site.
