Good Morning All,

We had just starting enjoying knowing that we had AM returning and along comes Philly calling on CTG.

Maybe……

It may be my island thinking coming out but I don’t see this as a fit for CTG.

He understands the pros and cons of college vs pro. Yes the money is better but it comes with a price.

It is well know that his wife and kids love Athens/Lake Oconee and have connected with the community as he has also.

CTG is a teacher loves the relationship with his players. Don’t think he could have a Vandy type moment in the pros.

What we all know is if mom isn’t happy then there is no peace to be had.

My god it’s Philly, being a yankee I know Philly and the Ben Franklin Bridge spent time working in the Philly area. To damn much cement and not enough green space. A garden spot it is not.

I don’t see CTG leaving family and trucking off to PA by himself he would have stayed in Dallas if that is what he wanted.

Join a rookie NFL coach with a mess for roster-maybe two years to get it together

Young GM who is a control freak, having to deal with players he has little or no say in signing

But my main point and why I think he stays is much the same as AM

Unfinished business- he wants another shot at CSS and USC-this time at home-SECCG=NC

I posted late thinking there maybe some update but I could not find any, CTG is on the trail

Somehow I want to think if he is speaking with a recruit today and the question come up in my heart CTG won't tell a teenager a lie.

Crap- I am guessing like the rest of the world what is going on like I said drama sucks

Ok one door closes and yes another opens – if it comes to it maybe we can find DC that is as big of surprise as Gurshal was.

Pause and give thanks

Have a great week weekend and a safe week

As always “Go Dwags”

Good morning yd1....agree with you on Philly. Would take a boat load of money to get me to move there.

Imo, coaches like CTG move into the pro's for 1 or 2 reason or both.....ego and money (SOS come to mind??). Just don't see the ego part of the equation for CTG, maybe the money but have my doubts on that as well.

When you lay it all out, CTG has a pretty good gig.

Have a great weekend everyone and always a big thanks to you yd1. :)

Wondered where you were this morning, think both of us at our age arise earlier than some.

yankeedawg1, I would be surprised if Grantham left for Philly. I think that I know his heart, and he is a teacher.

Once these young pups make it to the NFL, looking at the money does crazy things sometimes. One of the things that it does is release them from the NCAA and their college of choice rules. Now these young men see a side of life that they have not been exposed to before. Sorry, went off there, back to the subject.

Philly is not a good place for Todd Grantham, my opinion. I understand that he has spent many years in the NFL. He knows better than most that sometimes change does not mean all that. I would only point out that he spent time in Cleveland as did the very successful head coach of the New England Patriots. Both were canned.

Personally, don't think Grantham would be on the recruiting trail (today) if he was going to make a move. I have no doubts that Todd Grantham is a Stand Up Man. I do not believe he would recruit for 2013 if he had intentions of leaving. That said, means nothing.

You said and I am in complete agreement with your statement.

Todd Grantham's character will not allow him to step back or "suck up" to that type of thinking. Grantham has a "free hand" in Athens, if he is good enough as a coach and recruiter, he can have "several" not "one" draft choice each year. He will become a head coach if he chooses to remain in the college ranks. He will not become a head coach in the NFL.

See a Veteran, give Him or Her a pat on the back. They appreciate it. I appreciate them. :)
