Wondered where you were this morning, think both of us at our age arise earlier than some.
yankeedawg1, I would be surprised if Grantham left for Philly. I think that I know his heart, and he is a teacher.
Once these young pups make it to the NFL, looking at the money does crazy things sometimes. One of the things that it does is release them from the NCAA and their college of choice rules. Now these young men see a side of life that they have not been exposed to before. Sorry, went off there, back to the subject.
Philly is not a good place for Todd Grantham, my opinion. I understand that he has spent many years in the NFL. He knows better than most that sometimes change does not mean all that. I would only point out that he spent time in Cleveland as did the very successful head coach of the New England Patriots. Both were canned.
Personally, don't think Grantham would be on the recruiting trail (today) if he was going to make a move. I have no doubts that Todd Grantham is a Stand Up Man. I do not believe he would recruit for 2013 if he had intentions of leaving. That said, means nothing.
You said and I am in complete agreement with your statement.
Young GM who is a control freak, having to deal with players he has little or no say in signing
Todd Grantham's character will not allow him to step back or "suck up" to that type of thinking. Grantham has a "free hand" in Athens, if he is good enough as a coach and recruiter, he can have "several" not "one" draft choice each year. He will become a head coach if he chooses to remain in the college ranks. He will not become a head coach in the NFL.
See a Veteran, give Him or Her a pat on the back. They appreciate it. I appreciate them.
