Who will you be pulling for in NC and why?

DawgDoc, glad to see you back, always respect your posts and look forward to reading them.

Will have to respectfully disagree with you on the recruiting front. The dominance of the SEC winning 6 straight NC's has created a much higher % of kids wanting to play in the SEC with thoughts of having a better chance to make it to the NFL. IMO it has become "self fulfilling".......the more the SEC has dominated, the more the better recruits want to play for a BAMA, LSU, UF and now UGA......just watch Texas AM, because they are now in the dominate SEC and playing well, more kids from Texas will start committing to them versus UT, OU, TT, OSU etc etc.

Imo, the SEC has become the be all, end all in college football......a huge magnet for the top HS players in the country.

It's a natural progession....the best are challenged and want to play for the best and there's no doubt the SEC is the best conference in college football.

Again, just my opinion.

There's plenty of reasons I should root for the SEC, but seeing 'Bama win it's 3rd in 4 years on the heels of 7 straight
by the SEC while my beloved UGA hasn't even been able to win the conference just makes me sick.

I almost don't want to see 'Bama win again because it's just
another reminder of how much better than us they are year in and year out..

I almost want to see them lose so it doesn't look like going there instead of here is a guarantee of getting a NC if you chose to play in the SEC.

We compete much more directly against Bama for recruits than we do against ND, so I'm not positive seeing this other
SEC school win the NC almost every year is some sort of boondoggle for my UGA.

Being retired I have enough time on my hands to read a lot of what people think and sometimes the reasons for that.

There was a time when I suffered through the press that was being presented from the Northeast about the bare footed boys from the Southeast. Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Syracuse and the list went on and on. That was when I began to catch on to the "media tactics" and they were just that. While I fell off of the wagon with VD, one thing that can be said for him changing some thoughts. Took that bunch of "black eye pea boys" to Michigan and taught the "Big Nasties" a lesson.

Certainly the Southeastern Conference has had an effect not only on college recruiting, it has changed the way the nation as a whole think about SEC football. It has also had an effect on college administrators as well. How many universities would turn down an offer to join the SEC? Texas A&M did not let grass grow under their feet moving to the East side of the Mississippi and joining forces.

If Notre Dame should win this game tonight, the press and most of the nation will rejoice. Alabama wins, we will remain hated. I pull for Alabama and the SEC.

Well I did say "almost", and that's just cause I'm still bummed
after coming so close when the stars almost seemed to be aligning....

In the end.... Basically UF is the only SEC team I actively root against.

If Bama blows 'em out... I'll really be blue because then I'll
know without a doubt we were 5 seconds or 5 yards away from the SEC crown and the NC.
