John Jenkins is out will not play. (acadimcs)

stanger, hate to see academics come into the picture, guess with the lure of the NFL, some might tend to "ease" up. Frankly, excites me to think that Taylor will or "might" get some playing time.

Have to be honest, want to win the bowl game, but might be more excited to watch the numbers on the players jerseys that do get playing time.

Thanks for the John Jenkins heads up. :)

A lot of the guys got quite a bit of playing time on the D last year. I think we will be pretty deep even deeper than we were this year which was not really all that deep on the front 7. Harvey-Clemons, Jenkins, Herrera, Swann, Geathers will be back I think for one more go around and I am telling you Kenner Johnson will start at one of the safety slots next year....young man can PLAY...........CTG taking over the D line we will see a HUGE improvement over Garner......

ogredawg, the names you mention in your post can play for anyone. Now we have Kennar Johnson along with many others heading to Athens. Really like the piece below about Johnson and the way he committed.

If this group can come together, one thing that we can now talk about is depth. Been too damn long since we could talk about depth.

Johnson, a 6'3", 190 lb safety from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, picked Georgia over in-state options Ole Miss and Mississippi State. He came to head coach Mark Richt's house on Saturday night after watching the game (GT) and told him he was committing in person. He's the 30th commitment in this recruiting class for the Bulldogs.

Johnson's commitment is big for the Bulldogs, who will be losing eight starters on the defensive side of the ball. He is one of five players committed to Georgia that primarily plays safety right now. Obviously, not all of those players will end up at safety once they get to Athens, but that type of depth will help take the sting off the huge number of players leaving the team after the season.

Buc, 3 things.....

1. Certainly hope CTG coaches the DL.....if so, may have been a Godsend that Garner left...believe CTG is a better DL coach

2. Also believe CMR saw the "early season light" with the D and knows he may need to score a bunch....result?.....MM on offensive side

3. Gotta love how Johnson committed to UGA....shows a lot of class in my book....MAN do we need him at safety....has some experience....hopefully can step right in.
