SEC, NCAA, FBI, Auburn, Urban Meyer

Thinking about the Auburn situation makes me wonder just how deep the current accusations or supposed violations go. Auburn did bring in a couple of folks that have coached there before, one of course being the head coach.

If there were no problems or skeletons in the closet, wondering why Trooper Taylor did not return. Appears to me if there are going to be serious allegations brought against Auburn by the NCAA, and maybe the FBI, the dumping of Trooper was of paramount importance.

That leads me to this . . . . Will Trooper Taylor be the only one that is in trouble over the past several years of wondering just what is going on at Auburn University. Hard for me to believe that Trooper would be the only one breaking rules. Reminds me a bit of what happened at Ohio State. One person blamed, and the rest of the involved parties in the football program not having known or participated in the charges brought.

Part of my interest in this particular situation is what the NCAA will or will not do in the Auburn case. Appears to me that Southern Cal paid a much bigger price for their violations than Ohio State. Will that hold true for Auburn? I don’t doubt for a minute that the media, especially ESPN lobbied for Ohio State to return to prominence. Little things that ESPN did, such as bringing in the “sickly” Urban Meyer to be one of their chosen few. Guess after all of the denials by Urban that he had taken the job at Ohio State, although he already bought a home there, somehow he is now the head coach at Ohio State.

Media loves to take every available shot at the SEC, that is factual. Right now every conference in the country is champing at the bits to take the mighty SEC down. What the SEC has done is pay attention to details and for the past six years proven it to the media and the country at large.

Urban Meyer made one serious mistake, he put himself above all else. Totally self centered, and that caught up with him and forced him to leave the SEC before being recognized for what his talents actually are. He misread thinking that the Crystals would change the way Jeremy Foley thinks and runs the Florida operation. Urban, much like several coaches thinks he should be the last say about the football program. Only coach that I know of that can and does get away with that is Nick Saban.

Finally this. If the NCAA and the FBI along with the media pile on Auburn, the long term effect will be the entire SEC being the whipping boy of college football and the media for sure. Wonder how Ohio State would have done this year playing a seasons schedule against a full rotation of SEC teams? I have thoughts on that one. Urban Meyer would rather play one (1) game against the SEC, rather than a full season. Noticed soon after Urban took the job at Ohio State, the schedule against Georgia was cancelled. Surprising, not to me.

While on the subject of coaches that I have a dislike for. Tub of Spit, worthless in my opinion. There has to be something in the water surrounding the Auburn University area, especially the liquid that those connected with the football team seem to be drinking. Below is an article that I lifted from Kimberley Nash, The Lady Sportswriter. Like to read what the The Lady has to say and do so often.
