TN Dawg, agree with you on Butch Jones' coaching ability, so many young coaches in all conferences that understand football.
Comes down to as you say, can he recruit against many top coaches and assistants in the SEC that are firmly established. That will be tough. Will have his hands full recruiting in state against Franklin in my opinion. When he starts his forays into Georgia, Alabama and Florida, competition is stiff. We at UGA understand just how difficult it is to keep players with the home team.
Jones will have to produce quickly, maybe not first year, but soon thereafter. Tennessee thought that Derek Dooley would be able to do that, we know how that turned out. Fans in this day and time have much shorter fuses that say fans several years ago.
Think he is going to have a real hard time turning that program around. If Strong had taken the job at Tennessee, would have made me look a bit closer.
Just heard that Tommy Tuberville is heading to Cincinnati to take the head coaching job over. Have voiced my opinion on Tuberville as far back as his days in Auburn. Don't like him, don't like his ways, and this POS pulled another boner this season against an assistant at TT. Appears to me that he had to find a place to coach after his latest sideline encounter.
Don't know what it is about Auburn, seems trouble resides just around the corner from the Plains.
