Yeah, I wish they had spiked the ball and then talked it over... That way you get your two plays, AND you have time to talk it over and remind everyone the play has to end up in the end zone. MAYBE if you do that a player doesn't grab that tipped ball on the 5.
The ball was tipped, so I'm not blaming Murray or the coaching staff for that. I did want them to have time to
talk about the last two shots into the end zone, but that's
no guarantee of anything.
For the most part, the players and the coaches gave it their best shot, and fell a bit short.
I'm just crushed because that was our best chance in Richt's tenure, and probably the best chance we will have for awhile.
Schedule is going to be tougher next season, and we will be replacing a lot of D talent.
You know Wart, after reading your post, that last sentence really stood out for me and kind of struck me funny. I know we have D talent BUT......after watching what BAMA did to us, raming it down our throats for 350 rushing(500+ total offense) AND we knew it was coming, made me pause and think.......really? Supposedly NFL talent all over the field and they averaged 7 ypc.......not sure what I think about our D. We knew they were coming and we just got WHIPPED at the point of attack.....just not sure what to think about that. Maybe our Jaguars need BAMA's OL.
Guess that's the only answer.....BAMA's OL is by far the best in the country. Good luck ND.
