Win or Lose The Next 2 Games Define The Dawgs

I have been quiet lately but have been reading everyday.

To me the next 2 games will tell exactly where UGA football stands. Both games will be against quality teams. If we come out and beat Bama then it is obvious the program is headed in the right direction. But it is how the team looks if they lose that will tell a lot. If it is a repeat of the USC game then we know the record is a product of the easy schedule. If the team plays tough and loses a close game to either Bama and/or the bowl opponent then we know we are good but not great.

Here's hoping the Bulldawg bring their best game(s) and it is enough to win respect and perhaps a BCS Title.

bulldawg36869, not a single thing I can find fault with in your post. Must admit I had some of the same thoughts earlier in the year. Like you say, it is the here and now.

I can go along with the win part. Win it is the NC. So beating Alabama would really define this season at least for me. Winning it all well what can be said the best since 80.

Lose and it is back to a second tier bowl against a team from the B1G+ and a chance to finish 12-2. Great season but yet disappointing for a team of this talent and caliber. But it will be what it will be. Not really defining IMHO


I am happy with just competing again and being relevant in the NC picture. Been a long time coming.

You guys are scaring me . . . I have a video copy of the Sugar Bowl from 1/1/08. Remember how June Jones tried to get his team up to play us? He kept telling them over and over, "You belong here". The reason to say that is because they clearly did NOT belong there, and he KNEW it, as did everyone else on earth. Remember what Jimmy Johnson said before the kickoff? "I can't believe how SMALL these Hawaii guys are!" Their words proved to be prophetic.

I'm really concerned that we may not belong either. When we beat Florida, we were back up after a horrible outing against a LOUSY team, and got called out by Shawn Williams. Florida, on the other hand, may have been flat after a huge win over the 'Cocks. Typically, I don't believe in lack of emotion for more than a series or two, and I hope I'm not wrong about that. We may NOT belong. (Florida went on to struggle to beat Missouri and Louisiana-Lafayette.)

I watched the video of the 'Bama/A&M game. WOW! McCarron can put some AIR under a ball. He really lit up the A&M secondary. Those 'Bama backs also didn't go down easy.

I hope we compete and win. I'm not optimistic at this point.

If we avoid turnovers and the "D" can hold <fingers crossed> UGA 20, 'Bama 17?

I sure hope our team feels more confident than me (and some of the others posting here)!

It's easy to begin questioning things, especially if you listen to the media.

We will have every opportunity to win... I don't think we are over-matched. I think they will have to play their best game defensively to keep us out of the end zone.

I have to believe that AM is going to come out ready to play, and not be so tight.

I PROMISE you . . . SERIOUSLY . . . if Gurshall can run the ball, we will win. Period. That's because if they are running the ball, all of a sudden the passing lanes will open up.

However, I do NOT believe we will be able to move the ball on the ground. My hope is that AM doesn't choke this one away. If he focuses on just PLAYING BALL, and ENJOYING THIS GAME, I think he can open it up.
