Thought about what I am going to say quite a bit. Being retired with computer time on my hands and some folks that are friends who are still heavily involved with high school and college football, makes me think outside of the box on occasion.
There is no getting around the fact that Ogletree is a football player, one who will play on Sundays. Rambo, lit all of us up with the hit against Auburn. All of his interceptions are not going to move him that far up in the NFL draft.
So, these two are coming back to join the UGA football team again after sitting for a spell. Let’s look at the facts. Facts are these two have been suspended before, seems to me that they think more of themselves than the team as a whole. That I will never agree with, win, lose or draw.
Many of the blogs are playing up the fact that these two are returning. I am glad they are returning, but I have high hopes that Todd Grantham does not start either one of them. There are some very good football players that have stayed within the rule book that are doing very well on the football field. Doing well enough without the two players to have the national media mentioning for the first time in a while how good the UGA defense is.
Mark Richt sent a message, drove the media nuts, but good on him for standing up for principle and the rule book. I think it would be a serious disservice to the players on this team if these two start against Tennessee. If they do start, what kind of message has been sent. I won’t accept the suspensions alone as being sufficient.
Many are very excited about the return of Ogletree especially. Excites me, I do however come from the old school that believes we reap what we sow. Just a little thing that has bothered me with these two.
Rambo, if you play, don’t get beat deep. Just saying . . .
