wlayton, thought he would choose Tennessee. This might be another nail in Derek Dooley's coffin.
One thing all of can be sure of, Saban runs the program at Alabama. If Henry can produce in Tuscaloosa, Saban will be more than glad to let him play. One thing for sure, as far as college offensive lines, Alabama usually has a very good line to run behind.
Truthfully, I don't feel bad about DH's decision, hope the young man gets a good education and all goes well for him.
Henry's decision will probably have a couple of running backs taking a closer look at the college scholarship offers they have in hand. One football, and that football belongs to Saban.

growl, we see more and more of this. What it all comes down to is winning and most of the 5's are looking at winning programs. That however does not guarantee anything.
Hope UGA continues on the path we are presently on. We are winning and winning with quite a few coaching changes that have changed the face of UGA football.
Ask 95% of the young players that go to Alabama, LSU, and now hopefully Georgia and their answer will be . . . . winning programs.
Chief, you are right with the comment you made above, guarantee you this, the media, not all but a large portion make a living creating headlines about these young men signing on then having a change of heart.
Allow me this . . . . there is soooooooooo much talent, impossible for one university to sign all of them. Appears to me more and more the young fellows are influenced by colleges that have coaches with NFL credentials. Think many would agree with that. Don't think it hurt our program having Todd Grantham sign on after being a coach with the Dallas Cowboys.

Dont get me wrong Buc, I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY with the way things are going at UGA especially in the RB dept. I dont think any of us expected IC's departure to benefit us in the way it has. Just think if he had stayed around and took up one of these guys space, we might have never known about this talent and still have been stuck with a guy that doe'snt care about this program. I for one am happy and don't mind saying it,just hope he gets it together but somewhere else.

Chief growl, one thing I know about you. There is no doubt that you and someone that was very close to you are in the foxhole with UGA FOOTBALL. Get you wrong shipmate, don't ever think that.
Think that the folks that rate the high school talent had Gurley originally (one year ago) rated as a 3 or 4 star running back. Most of the rating systems do not amount to a hill of beans. Too many that have passes to sit with the leaders and players of football programs do not have a clue.
Easy enough to verify what I just said. Listen to the questions coming from those that put their "stuff" out there for us to hear on the videos.
AJC is a good example of certain beat reporters running off at the mouth looking for clicks. Ever watch Todd Grantham putting some of these "sillies" in their place without totally dressing them down. He knows what they are trying to do, and before it is cut and dried, they are kissing his behind.
The beauty of this board . . . . many of us are old or older, but have forgotten more about football than many of those on some boards will ever get close to. There are times when I make remarks about some of the folks that post on the AJC, for example the first poster likes to post "FIRST". What the hell does that have to do with the subject at hand?
Sorry for the length . . . I don't get you wrong growl. All I want at this point is a good game tomorrow between the Hedges and let's get ready to move on to Columbia East undefeated.
