TN Dawg, when KM first came out of high school, chose UGA, made me very happy. It took a while for him to realize that playing "follow the leader" is a game played in school at a lower level, not necessarily in college. When he reported to UGA there was a much different atmosphere surrounding the new running back recruits. Called entitlement. Beginning to look more and more as if Mark Richt has had a belly full of those that are trying to "get over on him".
Ken Malcome is not a back that lacks college football talent. Now he takes that last college step that can change many things in his life. Nose in the books and all of the books are not "play books". When reporters speak on Ken's talents, they tend to pidgeon hole the young man. While he might not have blazing speed, he is not without good speed and . . . . he has some shake and bake. Difference in KM and some of the others just before him . . . . he will put his helmet in your chest and make you pay.
All of us tend to get super excited when we see young players come on board and have exceptional speed, or superior pass catching abilities. One point to remember as is often said . . . . it starts up front don't give a hoot how fast or how many moves you have, better hope that offensive line is being offensive.
Back to the Mark Richt trust factor . . . . too many players have used that "card" up. Good on Richt for the attitude change. Richt in my opinion is in a situation that can turn on him rapidly if "certain" results are not reached. The single most gratifying change to this old fart is Mark Richt showing he has the "man up" attitude and there will be no more instances of the IC case showing the leader of the football team up on the sideline or any other place. Appears Ken Malcome got the message and it was loud and clear.
Big game tomorrow, all games between the Hedges are big games. Strut your stuff (UGA 'Russ' IX) you have proven that color does not diminish ones talents. Sorry, got caught up in your post my friend . . . .
