yankeedawg1, it is good to see that others outside our "loop" recognize what we have in CTG.
I very much appreciate the fact that Jarvis had a sit down with Richt and soon after committing became a true follower of Grantham.
Another thing that is mentioned, not often, but mentioned is the fact that Grantham is a "family" man. Big burly bear of a man is as gentle as a lamb when it comes to children and youthful persons.
Jarvis came and played with the "get the team prepared for game day squad" for a year, and listened intently to Grantham. In my opinion, getting Jarvis was as big an accomplishment as has been achieved in Athens recently. A leader learning from a leader. Much is accomplished when the right ingredients go into the soup. Tastes so much better.
There is not a doubt in my mind that Grantham could have had a head coaching job had he pursued one. Another plus when I grade the man. He is about keeping his word and commitment is a huge part of his makeup. I will always believe that he had a lot to do with keeping the group together when he came out publicly and said he belongs to Athens. Let's face it, those were some shaky times at best. Grantham is a "company man".
Very easy for me to get off on a tangent when discussing Grantham, I admire backbone. Remember when we had the same type defensive coordinator in Athens that had the same qualities.
yankeedawg1, it is going to be a very interesting season, and just after the season is over, I am very curious what the 2013 group will look like when the wraps go on.
If things go as many think they will, "Georgia" might have to watch that waistline.
Have a great weekend, and remember those making the ultimate sacrifice for us. . . .
