Questions for CMR in Contract Negotiations

Here's the conversation I expect in CMRs contract negotiations.

Coach.

The Outback Bowl. The OL could not perform and the RBs and TBs could not produce the entire game and yet run plays up the middle continuously were called.

You had a lead of 7 points in the Outback Bowl with 2+ minutes left in the game and continued to call plays that did not work during the game.

In OT, you or your counterpart, called a knee on 2nd down and kicked on 3rd.

Now I see no excuses for any of this. Simlilar situations occurred during the year.

What lessons did you learn in the loss to MSU in the Outback Bowl and the games prior?

None, all we have to do is look back over our history. Defense finally changed, with the urging of paying customers. History is repeating itself on the offensive side of the ball. The actual strength of the team this year on the offensive side was the receiving corps, and we do what . . . try to balance the attack with 50/50 numbers, passing and running.

So I presume we bring in one, two or three top notch running backs this year, that leads me to believe the superior coaching on the offensive side will then let the receivers die on the vine.

I think as one of the members on this board said to me in agreement . . . . beware of Michael Adams.

As kentdaddy put it . . . . incompetence at the top does not bode well for the team. Think that the top goes past the incompetence of the coaches right up to the president. Adams is all about image and he has that in his head coach.

gillette, the conversation will most likely be something to the effect of--

"Coach, name your price and number of years you want. Whatever you want is yours, because we want you as coach, because you're a good man, you won our fisrt SEC title in 20 years, you won more games than you did last year, and you're a good recruiter."

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Not only that, gentlemen, but we appear to be mired in this muck for the next few years at the very least. There are many out there who are calling this year a successful turnaround. We've "improved" by not losing to Colorado and UCF this year, and Cam Newton graduating, and Florida somehow getting even worse than they were the previous year. That, by the way, accounts for 100% of our "improvement" year-over-year. Does that sound like "turning the corner" to you?

Me either.

Mr. McGarity, do the "right" thing. Fire the evangelist. What we need are more thugs, and fewer hugs. Look at 'Bama and LSU - winning need not be pretty.
