Kansas hires Charlie Weiss = back to back over UF?

Well, Florida just lost their offensive coordinator after one year. For reasons I'm having trouble figuring out, Kansas has hired Charlie Weiss to be their new head coach. Not much of an upgrade.

I haven't decided if this is good or bad for the Dawgs. On the one hand, it keeps Florida in perpetual rebuilding mode, and probably buys Muschamp another year there. They will probably take a recruiting hit because of this, and it will be easier for Muschamp to defend another mediocre season next year having to break in a new OC. Pretty sure Foley would have given him the axe after next season if he didn't win at least 10 games with the same staff in place. So, that's definitely good news for us.

On the other hand, suckiness has followed fat Charles wherever he's gone. Now, Florida might actually fill their OC position with someone competent and we could well have another Mullen/Malzhan on our hands south of the border.

So, is Florida better or worse because of this? I'm looking forward to back-to-back wins in Jacksonville for the first time since the 80s, myself.

I think you have to look at what Charlie Weis is saying by leaving more than anything. Florida is NOT the place he wants to be . . . heck, you have to remember it's KANSAS he took, for goodness sakes. Raising the bar there won't be too tough. But still . . . Kansas. So HC at Kansas is better than OC at UF. Is it a better "stepping stone"? I don't know, but I wouldn't have made that move unless there was an enormous sack of cash at the end of the rainbow that lands in Rock Chalk JayHawk land.

Fulmer showed interest in the job, wasn't fat enough.

And still no one is after BoBo.

Doesn't matter for UGA the next few years....UF's cupboard is empty and will take a while to fill back up (thank you UM). We should definitely dominate them for the next 2-3 years if not longer. I'm more concerned that UF will get rid of Muschamp and get a real HC.
