Driving through the mtns. of Georgia, I saw homemade swings for sale. The sign said "swangs."

I moved to Hixson in 76 - two lane over the dam and Hwy 153 just four lanes.

Hamilton Place area you could have bought for $1,500 an acre then.

No I didn't or I would not still be working. I have two sons that live in area one in Soddy and the other Spring City.

Now even Cleveland is a Big City with a Super Center. Like we all have said you will enjoy being part of this blog.. good solid folks. What brought you to the TN area ?

Moved up to Fort Oglethorpe in '79 for a better job opportunity, transferred into TN in '81, married in '82, and then switched to a competitor in TN in '83. (job, not woman, that is;)

Wartdawg, Soddy Daisy is an old moonshining town, and to this day, the older folks there are very wary of outsiders, because back then, the only outsiders that would go into the area were Revenue Agents. The husband of a lady I used to work with ran moonshine to his Dad's distributors when he was a teenager.

AllDawgs5, I seem to recollect that Ooltewah got drubbed by Powell that night. 'Nuff said.

YD1, We moved to the Hixson area from LaGrange, Ga. when I was in high school. I remember when all Hixson had was a Home Store and the Rebel Drive In. Then came Pruetts and I moved away. Middle Valley, Falling Water, Soddy Daisy, beautiful places back then. Drive through that area now on our way to cabin in Fannin County. I don't even recognize the area. Chattanooga, the worst drivers on planet earth. I 24 is a hellhole.
