Larry may have been the greatest Dawg of them all. He made some of the dullest "3-yards-in-a-cloud-of-dust" plays feel like "dig-your-fingers-into-your-arm-chair-white-knuckles" plays. I had the privilege of meeting him many years ago when he had his own television program in Athens that a friend of mine produced. In person, he was the same as on the radio: gruff, but very warm and sincere - exactly what I had pictured and exactly what you would WANT.
God Bless you Larry. The Bulldawg Nation has one more member in heaven.
