I heard same about CT. He missed for "personal reasons". Hope it was not family emergency.

As for IC, tweaked his ankle I am told. Sorry but this guy is like a china doll. We need a stronger back next week.

Agree...but WHO?? We don't have a "strong" RB.

Buc.....what IS up with CT??????? What did he do THIS time......he needs to be kicked off the team. Just play the rest of the season with 5 wideouts and throw it all over the field.

OR.......let B Smith take over at corner and convert Boykin to RB.

wlayton, this has really surprised me, Thomas in high school was a leader, no trouble, everyone in the Osceloa area were crazy about this young pup. Sometmes "temptation" just overpowers the best of us. He really had a chance to move forward with this team. Makes my heart heavy.

Some talk down this way about his lack of playing time since casting his lot with UGA. Going to see more and more of that with these young fellows, all want to start, just do not realize or accept the difference when they step on campus. All of the young players are good athletes, some are just better than others. Everyone knew that Herschel Walker was good, but we did not really know how good until he took a trip to Tennessee.

If Tech can force us into the same game that Kentucky did, that could have results that none of us will like. Tech has a very agressive defense.

Yep, you are right Buc, next Sat will be tough, AM and the D will have to be at their best because of our RB situation. Speaking of RB's........here's Derrick Henry's 1st HS playoff results:

Yulee won 42-41 on D. Henry's 29 carries for 308 yards.......hmmmmm, can he graduate early? Kidding of course, he has a long way to go to play in the SEC.

This particular thread that stanger posted has had me looking and wondering about what the heck is going on with our running backs.

wlayton asked me about Thomas and all I could say is that he was a model citizen when in high school. Everyone really liked watching this young man play football. My suspicion is that he did not or has not had the carries or time on the field that he thought he would get playing in Athens. Just a guess on my part, just feel that Carlton has a case of the "bitters". Now the time comes when we need him and . . . . .

Picked this piece up in the AJC tonight, really makes me wonder why this type of attitude was not shown prior to this season. I am speaking of the changes our coaches have made and are making. Specifically Mark Richt. Before the season really got underway I posted here that I thought there were some serious changes going on with Richt. After reading what I am going to post below, feel pretty sure that Mark Richt is probably for the first time . . . becoming a complete head coach.

Shout out to Marshall?

It’s no secret that Georgia is in hot pursuit of Keith Marshall of Raleigh, the consensus No. 1 running back prospect in America. Marshall lists the Bulldogs among his favorites and is scheduled to make his college choice Dec. 6. Richt seemed to be talking to Marshall directly when he spoke of Georgia’s need for more tailbacks on Wednesday.

“There’s a tremendous opportunity at the University of Georgia for running backs in this class to come to Georgia and make a big impact,” Richt said. “I hope that’s not breaking a rule, but there’s tremendous opportunity, I can say that. If I was a running back, if I was a great running back, I would want to come to Georgia. I would be so excited about my opportunity at Georgia.”

The message reached Marshall. He retweeted Richt’s comments after they were circulated on Twitter by reporters.

Appears that Mark Richt is not pulling any punches, if that is the case, he sure as heck has me moving back in line. Comes a time when decisions have to be made. Richt even suggesting that he may be breaking the rules . . . . . never came close to that before. Saying that he hopes he is not breaking the rules, but . . . . . I like the fact that Richt seems to be becoming a true leader, not sure that he has been there before.

Another thing that I picked up on in the bold type above was Richt mentioning "running back(s). Plural. These two young fellows come to Athens from North Carolina, IC here and a couple of heavy weights in the backfield, have to like it.

Just an old man looking at a team I love.

Go Dawgs . . . . beat Tech. :)
