Jake Scott (The Best)

Brothers, going to post this link for one reason. Jake will be on campus for these awards. I know that many of you did not get to watch this guy. Those that did not, Jake was "all that". Another of Erk's prize pupils. Jake Scott was just as much a bad butt as any that have played since. Think maybe we are beginning to make steps back in that direction.

I have said openly that I think we have the right leader for the defensive side. Grantham might make some moves that are not accepted by all, not might, does. Jake Scott like Todd Grantham was and is a "free spirit". Erk was also, another reason that he was never the head coach at UGA. Jake had his problems with VD also. Leave that alone for now.

I was 6 when JS was in his final year at UGA, but
I remember his play as a pro with Miami. He was
an incredible player there. Unfortunately for my own
personal memories, I'm just a middle aged Dawg. His time at UGA is something I only know of because of my study of lore and history of the program. 71-72 Dolphins
is about as far back as I can recollect with any clarity.

It's sort of hard for me to form an informed opinion of his
issues with Vince, and his departure for the CFL, but I
know the man was a force on the field.

Wartdawg, I'm older than you, but still was pretty young back then. My memories are a little clearer, and because my family (and therefore me) was "pro-Dooley", I don't have quite the fondness for his days at UGA. However, I was prouder than a peacock of him at Miami, and I understand the old issues are long behind him and Vince, so it's all good with me too. He was one of the finest.
