AD5 and wlayton, I know we all know where all of us stand on coaching, so this is not an attempt to sway either of you or re-open the debate. That being said, my main complaint isn't the amount of points scored or yards or any of that--it's from watching the game and observing what is going on. Attemping 6 field goals against Vanderbilt, 3 (I think) of those from the red zone, is pathetic. As you know, I'm not one that has compared what we do to what Saban and Miles do, so I really don't care what they did against Vandy. The bottome line is, IMO, when we get drives going, against good teams, bad teams, whoever, we have got to start "finishing the drill", and getting TD's. All of the 50-75 yard TD's may work against some defenses, but they won't keep you afloat agianst good ones. Sustained drives ending in TD's is what will win, and allow the D to rest so they don't give up so much.

I remember saying that it was going to be a complete game on Saturday night against Vandy, and it was, completely ugly. But, to be sucessful you have to win the really ugly ones to. So I'll take it. GO DAWGS!!!!! GATA

I agree! The game was UGLY AS HELL!! I just have one question. WHY CANT WE PUT TEAMS AWAY?? Think our biggest problem is we let folks hang around and they end up coming back on us. We need to have a coaching staff that has a killer instinct. We have to be able to go for the juggular when we have our foot on their throats!! SMH......

sadlerdawg......in the big picture, I totally agree with you and everything you said is football 101. I was just agreeing with AD5 (and I believe this is what he was saying too) that with all the mishaps, bad play, bad calls, terrible D and terrible ST........the offense just wasn't the real culprit last night versus all other areas of UGA's ineptness.

fire_dawg, think many on this board feel the same way. If you get the chance watch Vandy leader Franklin's press conference. He is full of the mentality of which you speak of.
If Franklin can get his team ready to play UGA and call some of the plays that were called, then look at our play calling, sorry charley, I am totally not impressed with our calls.
AM can run the ball just as well as Rodgers, and carries more size. Franklin turns the young fellow loose even though he is capable of throwing the ball. AM ran, but Richt certainly has not been in favor of that.
When AM was at Plant, one of the things he was noted for was pulling the ball down and doing just what Rodgers did last night. I mentioned it on this board prior to AM ever taking a game snap. These supposed offensive coaches that score over 30 points a game have taken half of his game away. Why? Only reason I have heard is that they don't want him to get hurt. Keep him in the pocket and now we hear noises about HM should be playing because he is taller or more accurate. The offensive mindset of Richt/Bobo goes counter to what a fired up Vandy coach had to say, with spirit I might add. Yep I know, Richt is laid back and Bobo is hiding.
