Every year, I have my superlative games. The game I'm the most frightented of? South Carolina, every year. The game I look forward to this most? Auburn, every year.
The game I want to win by the widest margin? Tennessee. Every year.
Maybe it's because I have UT alums in my family. Maybe it's because they beat us 9 straight years in the '90s. Mostly it's because, in my first year on this board, the most annoying interlopers were the Tennessee fans; it was on them that I honed my skill at beating down ignorant rival fans.
Last year, we duplicated my favorite Tennessee score ever, beating the Vols 41-14 the same way we beat them in 2003. There's a bar set there. I want to raise it. I don't want Dooley's Junkyard Vols to score more than 10 on us, offensively or defensively or at all. No special teams touchdowns. No defensive touchdowns. No mistakes.
That said, this year I don't much care about what the Dawgs score, long as it's more than 10. 31-7, 41-10, 63-3, 59-0, all are good scores. Tennessee, however, may not score more than twice, and they may not score more than ten. If we can hold to that, I'm gonna have a good evening.
