Time to get over the hump

Buc, I saw that presser myself. I think Richt summed it up. Different coaches have different styles. I will give Richt credit, his demeanor on the sideline has never changed. Watched the UGA/ut game from 2001. After Green delivered hob-nailed boot to the face, Richt was the same ole no emotion guy. I did like his comment about he made about needing to break a camera or throw a table. I am with him on that cause I don't care to see it. I respect a man who knows who he is, not saying I agree or disagree with it. I really don't care about sideline emotions. However, I think what Richt needs to realize, fans do care about wins and losses. We care about 3 penalties on the first drive of the freaking season. We care about seeing the lack of discpline which we have seen over the last 3-4 seasons. The list could go on. Own up to your lack of execution wearing the headsets. I do believe you are capable of making good decisions play calling wise. However, I do believe you are incapable of making good decisions on who is doing what.

He remembers his demeanor, I believe it is about time he starts remembering who he is. The guy who was one of the best OC's in the game of college football. The guy who had success early in his tenure at UGA. Start calling the damn plays. You're the leader, take ownership for it.

I sure as hell wouldn't just watch my ship sink while I was busy delegating my responsibilities.

Everyone knows, I like CMR. Not for his mission work, I believe the guy was a helluva a coach. He changed. Got to involved with coaching duties that aren't related to the game. If he doesn't figure that out soon, I mean real soon, please Mac, relieve him of his duties. I love UGA a lot more than I will ever like a coach.

Hopefully, they show up this Saturday.

It's not his demeanor that I complain about. He doesn't have to turn over
tables or scream, but maybe he could gather his offensive line around and
be seen talking to them. Maybe he cold walk up and down the bench imploring
and encouraging his team.

Maybe he could appear to do something other than just quiet resignation towards
the fate of the team.

In both the UCF game last bowl season and this years Boise game, he just
appeared to be standing there quietly accepting what was happening around him
like he was saying "oh well".

Like it or not, appearances do mean something. I don't want him or expect him
to go Brian Kelly on us, or throw his headset like Spurrier.. but I want to
see something. On the sidelines and at all his pressers.. now it seems all I see is Officer Barbrady..

Move along people... nothing to see here.

Wartdawg, I understand that. I can't speak on it because I only saw what the camera showed me in those 2 games. I am hoping he talked to the offense on Saturday. His OC was in the booth playing cards, or whatever the hell he does while the game is going on. Richt should be having a "chit-chat" with each member that jumps, or commits a boneheaded penalty or play. I don't care if I see, but I sure hope he is just not standing there the entire game. If he is, I couldn't agree with you more.

Plus I would note that he doesn't have any issue getting surly if not a bit
indignant when the fans and reporters simply ask very obvious and fair
questions.

A guy that can respond with "I know what the hell I am doing!" after
2+ seasons where that can legitimately be questioned can surely be expected
to show a little indignation about his rather large O-line getting shoved around
like they were children being bullied on a playground.

Teams tend to take on the personality of the coach, and his teams seems
to be doing just that... they seem to lack the emotion and fire many of
us expect.

I think it was Boykin that gathered the team around before Richt spoke, and his
message was "it's okay.. still a lot of football to be played". How about
hearing something like "this is the University of Georgia.. we've got to
man up and win or lose we've got to stop getting pushed around, and boys...
we just got pushed around".

Edited to add: Plus I would note a couple of more things - The people questioning
what's going on are not all just a bunch of knuckleheads. Many are very
knowledgeable about football, and they are just passionate about their Dawgs.
I don't think those sorts of people should apologize for their passion. It's also
not just the fans... it's sports writers, radio talk show hosts and all sorts
of people whose job it is to analyze football. Many see something wrong with
what's happening in Athens, and scoff at this "stay the course" attitude.

If I'm wrong.. then go out on the football field and prove me wrong. I'm
waiting...
