New Coach

I like Patterson a LOT.

His intensity is the polar opposite of Richt, and I think intensity and tenacity
is a big part of what we are missing.

Wlayton, have agreed with you many times on Patterson. Start there, and see where it goes. Also, like Whittingham from Utah. Then, I would look at Kirby. Would rather have a defensive minded coach.

I agree on looking at Smart, but I am nervous to hire anyone who isn't a coach already.

Something tells me that McGarity's years at UF will help in a search if it is needed--I think he will have no problem going for a big time guy.

Agree. One advantage that Boise State has over other teams, their coach is a very good defensive coach. Understands offense also.

If I had my choice Alldawgs5, it would be a defensive coach for the lead Dawg.

Could name some very successful coaches both pro and college, like the D side as leaders.

Let's just go poach Van Gorder from the Falcons...he wouldn't even have to move!

USF????? yes, he would leave that for UGA. petersen will know that BSU is out of the picture if they don't get into a bigger conference in the next few years, then, his automatic easy coast to a BCS game is over when BSU moves to a bigger conference. 2. I love your picks in Bronco, Patterson and pete carroll. Interesting on Carroll, hadn't thought of him. I don't recall specifically what role he played in USC's violations, but if he checks out OK, that would be a great hire. man can recruit; he ran the same offense we run at UGA.

3. Chris Ault, no way. One good season at Nevada? Nope.

Ault doesn't have one good season at Nevada. He has a 70% win rate, 17 conference championships and two victories over Boise State in a period of time in which BSU has lost 5 games.

Also, regarding Petersen: The BCS is reviewing this year which conferences are Automatic Qualifiers. The leading so-called "mid-major" to become a BCS conference is (yes, sir!) the Mountain West. And I wouldn't call Boise's road to the BCS an "easy coast." They're a damn good football team.
