Who is going to be our new coach?

Ok. So by now I'm sure we can all agree that the Mark Richt era at the University of Georgia is over. Thanks for the 2 SEC championships and 2 Sugar Bowl victories...now get lost.

I wouldn't mind having Chris Peterson stay behind and switch uniforms myself.

Others on the short list:

Kirby Smart, DC, Alabama -- We've wanted him bad before. Maybe we still do.

Gus Malzhan -- Greatest OC in the game. Turned down Vandy HC job last year. Ours is obviously more lucrative

Dan Mullen, HC, Mississippi State -- We need to get this guy before Florida realizes the Muschamp and Fat Ass dynamic duo just isn't going to work out. Proven winner with a less than stellar SEC program. Imagine what he could do at the helm of an SEC power.

Will Muschamp -- Steal Florida's HC just for the hell of it to spite them. Then they'd get a much better HC and we'd be stuck with him. Nah. Bad idea.

Urban Meyer -- Left Florida in hopes that a lucrative position at Ohio State would open up. That looked sour once he realized he'd have to accept all those sanctions. Notre Dame just got exposed by South Florida today, so I believe that is his next stop. Yeah. Urban Meyer wants to be head coach at Notre Dame to set things right with god before the big heart attack comes along and kills him. He's a man on a mission, and it doesn't include leading the Dawgs back to greatness.

Derek Dooley, HC, Tennessee -- Turned them around mid-season last year. If he can produce a quality team this year, we just might want to snatch him up and bring him to daddy's alma mater. He's new, he's young, and he's proven himself capable of turning around a program that was in jeopardy.

Al Golden, HC, Miami -- Came to south beach looking for some fun in the son and some titles. What he got was a scandle the administration was privy to but didn't let him know about before he signed on the dotted line. Do ya think maybe he thinks his bosses are scum and wishes he had gone somewhere else? Yeah, so do I. Might be worth a shot to go down there and rescue him from the land of filth that is the Dade county landfill aka The U.

That's all right off the top of my head. Keep 'em comin'

Well, anyone who is offered will most likely accept because they'd know there's no pressure to perform. The only high profile job where you can have 4-5 poor seasons that get progressively worse and still keep your job.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

Well to be honest... right now I would take a lifesize cardboard
cutout of Vince Dooley or a jar of mayonaise if it meant Richt et al were gone.

I mean truly... could a piece of cardboard do any worse? We could
throw in a clay bust of Irk as DC and I guarantee our defense would
learn to tackle.

Not sure why you don't have Peterson on that list. Probably happy where he's at, but so are most of the others you named.... I would love to see what Peterson could do with this talent.

I think we would have to lose 3 more for Richt lose his job though. I think 9-3 and he's still here.

I think Kirby's the guy though, if Richt gets the boot.

Unless it became a purely monetary decision.. I'm thinking
Petersen might not want to take the job. He's a hero there,
and every season he can play 1 or 2 tough teams and end
up with an entire fanbase of folk and a significant number of
other folk who will die believing they were the National champ
despite not making the title game.
