Quotes from Freshman was created by justlow
I don't know if everyone's had a chance to read Chip Towers over on the AJC but he had his interviews with the freshman today. I wanted to post a few that stood out to me.
CB CHRIS SANDERS, TUCKER
•On his expectations for the season: “All we want to do is come in and help and contribute to the team and just help win a championship. In the secondary, if somebody goes down, we want to be there to help make plays and just getting playing where we can to help get this championship.”
•On impact of “Dream Team:” “I think we are the real deal. I’m not just saying the Dream Team, I’m talking about Georgia period. I think we’re all good. But we do have a lot of skill guys with talent coming in with the Dream Team that are going to help this team win a championship. That’s really all we want to do, just come together and help out.”
LB AMARLO HERRERA, COLLEGE PARK
•On working with the No. 2 defense: “Im just trying to do what I can do to help the team. I ain’t worried about whether I play or whether a walkon plays or second strong or third string. I’m just trying to get in and help the team. If they need me they’ll put me in.”
I think the team mentality really stands out the most to me and is a great attitude to have. You can read the whole thing at blogs.ajc.com/uga-sports-blog/2011/08/11...logs_uga_sports_blog

You know, justlow, I like that sound too. But for me those types of words are starting to ring just a little hollow. I've heard that kind of talk for years in a row now. Each year we hear the kids saying how last year there were guys on the team that were more about themselves than the team, and each year we hear how things are completely different this year.
I am starting to think these young kids were reading the sports section while they were in high school (I guess that edu-ma-cation was good for something after all), and now they know what sounds good.
Either they have been fibbing to the press, or we need more kids to become selfish and ME oriented! :woohoo:
Okay, there's my cynicism for today. You are right, justlow, those are good words to hear. I would just say to those young kids, "show me".

I understand cynicism completely. The state of the program is perfect conditions of cynicism. I guess to me in the pro sports world you hear so much me me me me me in interviews it's always fresh to hear some team oriented statements. All in all I'm with you, Thriller, put up or shut up. I guess it's just preseason optimism that I suffer from year to year, but I just have a feeling this year will be different. Of course if I have to eat crow I will.

Listened to this comment on the web today.
Olivadotti giving an opinion on Ogletree. Said Olivadotti, "Tree could play in the NFL right now. Still has things to learn but . . . . ."
First time I have listened to Olivadotti speak at length, folks we have found another jewel for the UGA staff.
From what I gathered, they are ba--s to the wall after the quarterback this season.
Apparently his twin brother is making himself known also. May not have the height, don't doubt for a minute his heart. Really glad that these brothers selected UGA. Should be a lot of fun to watch.
The Ogletree's choosing UGA probably did not hurt our chances with the signing of Tray Matthews.
Coaches better coach them up. Again, not a lack of talent in Athens or heading that way.
Go Dawgs!!

I love hearing them going after the quarterbacks. Moore can't throw on his back

That is correct. And interestingly enough he also cannot throw effective with a large pigmented man crushing him. I think we have stumbled upon the key to victory.
