Good Morning All,
This not a soap box tirade about the decay of morality. It is also not about keeping CMR because he is a Christian and above board good person.
The events of the recent past have me thinking about college football coaches and how their misjudgments can scar a program for many years.
Combine this with some of the bonehead decisions made by players it is a wonder that more schools are not under the NCAA black cloud.
Kiffin & Pearl left burnt ground in Knoxville
Ohio State, WestVirginia,BSU and Tenn along with several other schools must sit and wait to learn their fate.
It was seven years before USC lost its NC somehow I do not believe it will take that long for Auburn. The frosting on this cake is the coach will be paid during any investigation under his new contract. To me this an endorsement by the school to have the coach break the rules. Win at all costs!
As difficult as it was waiting for the AJ’s decision I cannot begin to grasp what it would be like to deal with pending major rule violations.
I am aware that CMR is not the only “Good” coach in college football.
If and when a change is made I pray for the good of UGA football’s any future coach to be as honorable a person as CMR.
To this end it is my desire that CMR rights the ship so as we do not have to roll the coaching dice. Having said that I feel that we are in excellent hands with Mac to lead a replacement search if necessary.
It has been awhile since I spoke about another quite week in Athens. Yes it has been, thank God for small blessings!
It was Oct 11,2010 when the last player was arrested. Kudos!
This is an example of the good work by our players, coaches (Father Joe) and Mac.
Take time and give thanks, Have a great weekend and a safe week.
As always “Go Dawgs”

Good reads as always yd1.
Bringing up the arrests(or lack thereof this year) I am pleasantly SHOCKED how they have all but disappeared since Papa Joe came back to town. Coincedence? I think not. That man is in those boys ears every single day. Plus the kids are more about "team" now instead of "me". When you get that conceded and selfish, then the "me" takes over and dumb decisions are made. I know what I was doing at 19-22 yrs old.....

yd1, glad you brought this up.....
Imo, all the decay we are seeing in college football makes me realize just how classy our program is under CMR's leadership. No he's not perfect and has a lot to prove, but you can't tell me that with all that's going on in and around college football, this does nothing but ENHANCE our recruiting efforts. CMR is a great recruiter anyway but with the turmoil surrounding our sport, I have to believe that many parents, players and HS coaches love what they see at UGA.
The players that can't see this, we don't want anyway.
We can blast CMR etc but you have to NOW be proud of the kind of program he runs from an ethical standpoint.......I'm sure it has gotten MANY more parents attention as well.
I know my chest sticks out a little further when the corruption in college football subject has come up lately.
NOW CMR, you are getting the players........no excuses......coach 'em up........let's win some championships!!!!
