Fred Gibson Signs with Falcons

Former Georgia wide receiver Fred Gibson, who failed to stick with Pittsburgh after being drafted in the fourth round in 2005, signed a free-agent contract with the Falcons.

I always liked Freddy, but I hear he's too small for the NFL. I say let's get D.J. throwing to Gibson. Every Bulldawg added is one step closer to a Superbowl in my opinion.

I certainly hope Gibson makes it as well but I have my doubts. You can't play WR in the NFL and \"hear footsteps\". Gibson's lack of intestinal fortitude will be his downfall. The boy doesn't like to get hit and it's inevitable in the NFL. He was playing in the band at Waycross High School (may be Ware Co. HS now) in the 10th grade then went out for football his junior year. You don't get hit too hard or too often in the band. If you really think about Gibson's career at UGA, he was a jump ball WR not a great route runner and he didn't want to catch anything over the middle (i.e the UF game his junior year with 3-4 drops on slants over the middle that would have been 1st downs to keep huge drives going which may have cost us the game, heard \"those\" footsteps). I'm from his hometown so I wish him the best.

yeah, I'm with you on that as well. Now Reggie Brown on the other hand is a tough rascal and doesn't surprise me at all that he has made it in the starting lineup.

We all have our doubts but you gotta remember we also had doubts on DJ before he started his SR year. Who knows maybe fred will be the same type of guy, that shows everyone up who has doubts in him.
