After reading that article, I believe Tressel's parents should have named him "Ostrich".
Tried that old head in the sand trick again, this time it did not work wlayton.
Nope.
Geez, some weekly unemployement #'s just came out.......looked as though they were inflated by ONE.

Buc - Thanks for the welcome back; I'm trying to make it so that I'm not getting welcomed back every single time I post! Coming back is slow work, but I'm putting my back into it this time.
If you've read the SI story, you really don't need any excuse at all to enforce the death penalty. It's ten straight years of scoffing NCAA regulations and lying to investigators. It's three straight star players (Clarett, Troy Smith, and now this idiot) getting illegal benefits. It's an entire culture of corruption, and getting rid of Tressel isn't the answer. It's not enough. The program must be shut down for a year; it's the only way tOSU, the athletic department and the city of Columbus will learn anything.

dapolla, guess we will see just how powerful the OSU forces are. Their course now seems to be cooperating with the NCAA, looking for and correcting any problems that exist. Seems SI and others have not had any problems locating the areas of OSU and NCAA oversight. Going on for years, now Gee and Smith offer Tressel's hide and the problem(s) has/have been corrected.
From where I sit, the way you kill the snake(s) is chopping its head off. Playing with the underlings as chess pieces will only magnify the problems and the rightful conclusion to the case will never be reached.
Think maybe Pat Haden and the entire body corporate of USC are watching the outcome of this OSU mess . . . . Below is a piece that I picked up from the LA Times.
Having received official word that its appeal of some of the harshest penalties in college sports history had failed, USC officials on Thursday tempered their disappointment by focusing on the future.
"It's not an unexpected result," Athletic Director Pat Haden said of the NCAA's decision to deny USC's arguments. "We're going to move forward."

Shutting down OSU will never happen.......even though they certainly deserve it.
