Not going to read too much into this. Does however give one a reason to pause and maybe ask a question or two. . . .

Or, see how this plays out.

Sometimes, even for old farts like me, better to take a breath and see how things work. Richt shows his inner feelings with the paragraph below. Great respect for those that care.

“Within the last year, I read this book, “The Hole in Our Gospel,” written by Richard Stearns. He’s the president of World Vision, U.S. I think people understand who World Vision is but, basically, they help the poor. Through their organization, you can help children, you can help build wells, you can buy them donkeys, whatever people need. World Vision helps people across the world. Well, anyway, there was a lot of statistical data in there about the amount of people that live on a dollar a day around this world. Billions of people. So I’m reading this book and it really affected me. It helped me realize that what we have is way more than we need and that our ability to give is hindered by this property. I guess that’s the best way to tell you. We just wanted to be in a better position to give and bless people that don’t have anything. We felt like this was one way to be able to do that.”

That being said, and as I speak for myself, I really hope that Richt gets totally involved with "his" football team like right now. This man can coach offensive football, have seen it, want to see it again. Grantham and his group will take care of the other side.

I have gone from being one of Richt's biggest supporters to being a "show me" person now. I give him two games to show me. 0-2? Outta here. In fact, at 0-1 I'll hold the door open and wait to see who kicks him through it.

However - there are many out there who flame the man BECAUSE he is a Christian. I suspect I'm not alone in saying that if you flame someone for that, then light me up too. I'm a Christian and proud of it. The world's WORST Christian, but a Christian nonetheless. What he is doing is more than honorable, it puts me to shame.

But I'm not a football coach making million$. 0-2? If that happens, I'll drive over to Dan Mullen's house and personally drive him back to Athens.

Here's to hoping that I don't have to hold open that door and make that drive to Mississippi.

I can help him pack if he wants to go overseas for some hands on help.

I admire the intent. Words are always easier than actions. If one is to be judged actions do speak louder than words.
