I hate anything in orange, but there is a level above college athletics that means a lot more. I agree that finally SOMEONE appears to have done the right thing and gotten rid of a thug.
Hoodlums, unfortunately, sometimes tend to be athletically gifted. Some college coach was the first to realize that and took advantage of it, and everyone has been doing it since, except Vanderbilt (where it was at least recently forbidden to swear), probably Stanford, Brigham Young and MAYBE Northwestern. Probably few coaches took advantage of it more than guys like Tom Osborne and Jimmy Johnson. But it seems nobody is completely innocent. (Even our own coach, who is frequently derided simply because of his Christianity, played Odell Thurman.)
It's nice to hear that one coach at a genuine football program (that's as much compliment as I'll EVER - grudgingly - give Florida) has done the right thing. In one way it weakens his team, but in a MUCH GREATER SENSE it will VASTLY STRENGTHEN his team.
Now we need to remember that this year and PICK THAT CORNER APART!
