So, tonight's game against Florida went as expected. A 3 game skid at this point in the season, especially with two of the losses being to UT and Vandy, really hurts our credibility with the selection committee.
Ordinarily, I'd say things look pretty grim at this point, but one thing we have going for us is that we have a soft schedule to close out the season. Our last 7 games are against South Carolina, Kennesaw St, Auburn, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We've already beaten UK, and should have won against UT, so if we iron out some kinks and build momentum with a 5 game winning streak going into the Kentucky matchup (which is expected if we play anything like we did before this recent skid began), then a 20 win regular season is well within the realm of possibility.
I'd say we can lose the Kentucky game and still make the dance with 19 wins. We'll probably need to go 6-1 over the last 7 to avoid the NIT.
