Sometimes folks do not understand what "killing a thread" is. First off if you want to talk football about a particular school or conference you join a site like this one. There are thousands of blogs out there for those that don't talk or discuss, they place sites up for others to look at.
I much prefer trying to have a discussion with folks on a board that I get to know. Is that unreasonable, don't think so. I do have a problem when another site, blog or board tries to move to the forefront and basically get away from what I would call "code".
This board in my opinion is set up for conversation from the "Individual Poster", not what someone in the distant blog-o-sphere wants us to read and react to.
This is our site, or, we would not be allowed to post here. Recently there has been too much traffic in my opinion from the outside encroaching on this site.
Sometimes 20 or fewer words can express what it takes youtube film to get across in 10 minutes. Folks like averagedawg for example. Been here longer than most, understands UGA football more than most, but does not carry another blog or site on his back.
Anyone can try to be "first" at the AJC. They need that, clicks mean keeping their damn jobs. This site, since I have been here is not about clicks. It has shifted a bit recently, but is still one of the "few" boards that holds true to the principal of conversation.
Anyone can come up on a board and throw a barb or two, but what we have here is not about throwing the pasta against the wall to see if it sticks. I think and I hope that I am right, this bunch cares about UGA football and wear it on their sleeves.
We don't have to try and impress each other, many on this board are far past that.
You don't have anything to say, read what is here, as many do. Nothing wrong with that, some blabber some are blabberless. (New word).
All of us that have anything that has to do with anything . . . . is at our fintertips. Means a heck of a lot more when someone expresses an opinion. Speaking for myself, would rather see someone post in a thread and be diametrically opposed to me or others, than someone sluffing along. All of us can read, we all get the same information, unless you are on the "inside".
I am willing to play the "game".
How many folks on this board look at the AJC everyday.
How many of us look at more than one site for UGA information.
Why would we post or read without adding an opinion.
There is no end to this. We only need to raise our hands if the above is truthful.
