Some good news

Caleb King is eligable and has signed. His brother said today that he IS eligable this year so I guess he passed his SAT test. Some good news especially since Greenlee turned traitor after telling UGA for 3 months that he was committed.

Well, I heard Greenlee's going to FSU anyway, so he must not have very good judgment. Not sure I'd want him between the hedges anyway.

Ah, sour grapes! The preferred food of Signing Day! Welcome, Caleb! YOU'RE A DAWG NOW BOY! SIC 'EM!!!

dapolla, I can understand how you feel about Greenlee, but he is a BIG TIME recruit (maybe would have been the best in UGA's class, King included). Top 5 OL in the country, better than ALL the OL/DL coming in this year to UGA (including JUCOs) and would probably start as a freshman, he's THAT good. Very similar to Andre Smith at Alabama that started as a freshman and was dominating. Going to FSU really hurts.

True, but at least it doesn't hurt us in conference. And I seem to remember you being in on a discussion with us recently about Eric Berry choosing to go to Tennessee, which actually does hurt us in conference. Berry has poor judgment (taking the Pumpkin's word that he's going to get to play CB and QB at the college level, what a joke!) and so we determined that we didn't want him. Daniel Inman was a great prospect too, but he had poor judgment. Look what happened to our line when he was in charge of it, rather than Max Jean-Gilles. It took all Nick Jones had to protect Stafford, Cox and JoeT last year. Believe me, personality bleeds over onto the playing field, and we do NOT want a guy who tells us for three months one thing and then on signing day jumps ship protecting our by-God backfield. He may be a big strong guy, but if he's not reliable, then give him his Free Shoes and ship him to Tallahassee.

Then again, some of you may not agree with me...

Well I do agree with you to a point. This year's class is a disappointment. Out of the top 10 recruits in Ga., we are only signing 2 and even GT is signing 3. So, in my opinion we certainly don't need to lose potentially the best recruit we thought that we had. Inman can't hold a candle to Greenlee NOW, much less when he's a senior (although he'll bolt to the pro's after 3 years anyway). UGA really wanted this kid because he's the real deal and we need OL.

The comments above on Caleb King came from his brother, who said he will sign and will be eligible. No actual word that he has gotten his test scores back yet but his brother was quoted as saying that he will be eligible and will be at UGA, SO we will see.
