southernlover, in agreement with you.
My biggest disappointment concerning Blair Walsh is going back to our departed coaches. They were messing with the dude, directional kicking and whatever crossed their minds. That along with some other things that stunk up the joint.
Rex Robinson called the coaching staff out in no uncertain terms. That was when some of our coaches began to wiggle in their seats.
Again, you are right. Know this, BW can flat kick and he will play in the NFL. One old farts opinion.
Also, thanks for the comment on the avatar. Sometimes in a quiet moment I close my eyes and reflect back to Sanford Stadium, railroad tracks, sunny fall days in Athens. You could hear a roar go up, and sure enough, there was Erk butting heads with Jake Scott or anyone that wanted to feel his vibe in the pre-game warmups. Erk was worth the price of admission. I love football, and damn sure loved Erk. Erk, THE JUNKYARD DAWG.
Here is hoping that some of these new recruits come to Athens, play their hearts out, get a good education and have a beautiful life.
To you I say . . . don't stay away so long. In this age of technology, one can find a place to either post or start a thread. Board needs folks like you that have opinions and are willing to butt heads like Erk did.
Below is a post that you made some time back that impressed me (for whatever that is worth).
Just a few comments... 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
1) We only threw to a tight end once on Saturday. We should be using our talented TE's for shorter passes to help Murray out. Especially on the huge 3rd and 4.
2) Wild Dawg formation? WTF?? This seems to be CMB trying to keep up with the Jones' It should be deleted from the play book and never thought of again.
3) O-Line play has been horrendous. A real dissappointment and most people and analysts thought UGA would be the class of the SEC.
All in all I though we looked much better than the previous week and see real potential to turn the season around and finish with dignity.
