Good Morning All,
Things are back to normal here in Lake Wobegon, Oops I mean Athens.
Georgia’s yard has returned to just dead Bermuda grass without any snow and ice, one happy dog. I sure don’t miss it.
Sitting around last Sunday before the pro games digesting the news about JH leaving. No surprise as many have said and I will join those who wish him well.
AJ and JH will be missed much like KM, we are missing MS less with the prospect that AM brings. Now it is time to move on and work with what is and not what was.
Call me crazy it won’t be the first time or last time; IMO this may help in two areas. First without AJ we will have to retool our passing game and spread the ball around not just four games but the entire season. It will force AM to find and use other talent on the field. No question that he can and will make that adjustment. Getting a good running back with a more productive “O” line will lessen the need for seeking the home run pass as often. Life without JH will also be a challenge. Landing a true NT it will lessen his loss.
I do understand that losing these two leaves voids to be filled. However I think it can be done and with the results showing improvement. Success is when opportunity and preparation meet. New faces will have the opportunity, we will see to what levels of success they reach.
The second plus on their departure is on the effect on recruiting. This will open PT for recruits without question. We will find out on February 2nd just how much of a positive factors this turns out to be.
Huge pieces for the 2011 season puzzle come to town this weekend for their official visit, sure glad it was not last weekend with the bad weather. I plan to setup tents and chairs near the Arch for them to visit with the Fraternal Brotherhood of Hurting and Frustrated Bulldog Football Fans. If you are anywhere close stop in and help plead our case. On second thought given the size of the “Brotherhood” maybe we need to move to Sanford to have enough room. For those who wish to stay the evening session will be a change the HC venting and hootenanny!
There was flurry of activity around Georgia Football this week, recruits and a departing coach look forward to chew’n the bone with ya’all in the days and weeks ahead.
Hug your kids, they don’t stay young for very long!!
Have a great weekend and a safe week. As always “Go Dawgs”
Go Dawgs!
